We're about an hour drive NW of Philly (GOOOOO FLYERS!). We're also about 10 miles north of Wilmington, Delaware (where I work). |

Expert 1246 West Grove, PA | Subject: RE: Team 2 - June Challenge You may have noticed that I changed my avatar. I was on the Men's team in last month's challenge and the bet between the teams was that if you were on the losing team, you had to change your avatar to a picture of your legs. I'm hoping that this picture is showing enough leg that it will satisfy the judges. Had an easy 30 minute treadmill run this morning and will get to the Y this afternoon for a swim. We need to come up with a team name. It is the start of summer, so maybe we can incorporate summer or sun into our name. Here is my lame attempt at a name... I, too, have a 9-year-old daughter, but have only been married 14 years. Same to you! B-day is just around the corner - looking forward to some new SBR toys! How about you? The road bike I got May 1st (http://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/thebikes/pdfs/10_venturacompf.pdf) was an early b-day present from my husband. I know that he and my daughter plan to get me a bag that goes under the seat and fill it with a multi-tool, tire levers, spare tube, and a CO2 thingy and two cartridges. Daughter will be picking out the bag so that it is stylish and coordinates with my bike. Husband will be picking out the tools. Other than that I have everything I need to get me through to fall. Hmmm, husband is pretty excited about this fitness thing. I will not be surprised if I also get some short running shorts and some running tops that aren't much more than sports bras. LOL Anything in particular you are hoping to get? |

My name is Duane - and I suspect my posting will be sorely lacking. I have hit and miss internet coverage at home and at work - well, I'm pretty busy as of late. A little about me is that I am 39 (since we are all telling - but I won't be 40 for some time) married, 4 kids. I've never done a tri, not sure I ever will, but I hope to this fall. I'm set for an ultra in August and did a half marathon on 5/1. My goals for the month..... I'm going to try 45 miles running, 45 biking, and at least 6 sessions of basketball or P90X (plyo or abripperx) with a max of 2 bball, and for my fourth, a total calorie burn for the month of 12,000 from exercise. I hope I haven't set my sights too high. I have a 4 day trial next week and then a seminar 2 weeks later. I hope to have time to say hi from time to time, but if I don't, it's not personal! Hola Duane! How's the crime fighting business? Hi Andy! Very busy these days (and thus no challenges for awhile) No end to drunk drivers in sight. Have a trial next week on a leaving the scene of an accident involving death. Real interesting stuff - lots of CSI stuff that I won't go into until after the trial is over, of course. TTFN! |

Just to recover off my tri on the weekend and to aide my glut medius a bit (I figure I should give it some time to heal--maybe..haha)... Another easy bike tonight...outside this time! Woohoo it stopped raining! *knock on wood |

Extreme Veteran 503 Central Iowa | Subject: RE: Team 2 - June Challenge I'm plaining a bike ride for myself tonight. It won't count toward the challenge, though. Husband is heading out with friends, and daughter got invited to an overnight at a friend's house. So, rather than do my short route, I want to use my free time to explore as far as I can down the trail and make it back before sunset. Two questions, why is that everytime I ride I have a headwind on the way back? And two, if it just has to be that way, why is the wind forcast to be stronger during the second half of my ride than the first (i.e., stronger when it's a headwind than when it's a tailwind)? Regarding shorts, if husband does get me short running shorts for my birthday, I will post a picture. Don't think of me as a beauty queen or supermodel, but the image should certainly cleanse the retinas after ashort33's post! |
