Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: August "Don't Be A Slacker" Challenge I got my ride in last night. I was feeling guilty for being anti social though. I somewhere to be so I didn't have a lot of time. I go out the door and my neighbor is outside and wanted to talk. It was a choice between talking or riding and riding won out. I hope he didn't think I was being rude. Not sure what is on the schedule for today. We're catering a wedding and I'm not sure if I will be able to squeeze something in. The plan calls for some strength training but I won't have time to stop at the gym. I guess I'll be switching things up a little this week. |

What I didn't plan for was staying extra long after my tri club meeting and being suckered into persuaded to do a marathon in Feb instead of a half, and a 100-mile trail run in July (which I will probably still back out of, or "just" do the 50k). Just a 50K?!? I'm gonna go do my 3 miles and pout! If i run backwards does it count double? I know! I just did my first marathon this year, and I was thinking that's long enough... Now I'm being peer pressured to go longer?! Sheesh! Yeah I don't know what it is but there seems to be something that drives us to go farther once we accomplish something. I always wanted to do a tri but never an Ironman. Now I find myself wanting to do an ironman too. I also have the Wasatch 100 on my bucket list now. Makes me wonder what's next. It's SICK, I tell you! I'm seriously considering the 50-miler, and am already imagining the world of hurt I will be in after! |

Especially since I have to do my marathon training runs at 6:30am on Saturdays, I always feel a bit antisocial going home early on Fridays or missing events because they start too late. It seems like the friends I see the most are the ones I work out with! |

We live in an old house right next to a farm field. We may just get a stupid cat to help if Ehrlich, traps and sonic emitters don't help... 50K, 100K? I wish my knee could handle that...6k on Sunday Oly will be long enough for it...though I am doing a half-mary...how far could away could a mary or longer be? Of course I read about someone on here doing the Canadian Death Race- that sounded awesomely insane! 6/6 with the swim! |

Tues - skipped my swim & run to help a friend pack for China (while eating pizza and drinking wine & champagne... To be fair, she couldn't bring the wine w/her to China so we were helping her!) Thurs - skipped my run & yoga class to help a friend celebrate her birthday (by eating pizza and drinking beer) Friday - will skip any attempt to make up my workouts to go to 1 if not 2 going away parties. These may or may not involve pizza and alcohol. Hopefully tomorrow I can make up for my slackerish ways... I have a 10-mile run with my marathon training group, then am hoping to join my tri club friends in an OWS. |

Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: August "Don't Be A Slacker" Challenge I'm contemplating doing an open water swim race in September because I haven't been motivated at ALL to get into the water since my race! The thing is, it's a 2.5k or a 5k, wetsuit or no wetsuit... Most people do the 5k no wetsuit, but that might be too hardcore for me! So I don't know whether I should aim for the full thing, or do the short course? Or maybe go the distance but wear my wetsuit? Ahhh, decisions!! |
