Anything exciting happening up your way? They're calling for potentially severe thunderstorms this afternoon. I wouldn't mind a less exciting forecast.
Same here. I am having to drive across the state and want to get to Raleigh before they do! |

Same here. I am having to drive across the state and want to get to Raleigh before they do! I have to take my daughter to piano lessons, then rush home and take my son to soccer. If it is going to storm I hope it doesn't start while the kids are out in the middle of the soccer fields with no protection. Whoever takes our son to soccer generally stays at the field, so our car is there for protection, but not all the kids are that lucky. I would have no problem though with other kids jumping in the car, too.

I couldn't imagine being out in one of the storms that have been there lately! Take care. I am off. I'll check in later this evening. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Are Peachy in May! I just took a 25 minute walk over my lunch break. I generally work through it, but it's a nice day out so I decided to take a walk. I get away from my desk. I get to burn off some stress. I get to log a workout and stay peachy. It's all good! |

Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Are Peachy in May! So, I see that all my gouhlies are doing just peachy in my absence. hahaha. I crack myself up. I hope the weood floors, turned ankles, and stuffed up sinuses are all getting better, or at least don't seem as bad. It sucks to have things go awry. Ann, Robin, be careful out there! Yay for couple's sprints, Melissa! I am waiting for the painter to come back from picking up paint at the store. If I had known he was going to be gone this long, I would have gone to the gym for a swim. He should be done this afternoon, then the carpet should be going into the basement by Friday. then it's moving in and re-organizing. Which I'm no good at. Any volunteers to come down and help out? I can probably round up a few margaritas... This peachy challenge is perfect timing for me. I have totally slacked off in the last week. Completely. Since Ididn't know about it until the 3rd, can I start there, and just not count the first 2 days of the month? Or can I count riding my son's new road bike around the cul-de-sac as a workout? hehehe. |

Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Are Peachy in May! Well, we actually got him 2 bikes (he has no idea, though). The one we originally wanted to get him, we ordered on closeout from Javelin. It's red, a little smaller than the other one (it's 35 cm), with 650 wheels. Red is his faveorite color. But, we found a teeny 43 cm trek in one of the LBS, and couldn't get ahold of javelin to know if they even still had the one we wanted to get for him, so we bought that one too. That one cost us alot. It is an "adult" bike after all, carbon fork, etc etc. But it's white and blue, and is a little bigger. We do need to modify the red one a little for him, with brake levers that work both from the bullhorns (yu know, normal place onour road bikes), and another lever that come across the top of the handlebars as well, and a shorter stem. He loves it sooo much. Last night I put it on my trainer so he could practice shifting (the shifters are on the downtube, old school style). We pulled him off the bike for the umpteenth time around 10:30 last night. The boy's an animal. He LOVES it. I just hope I can keep up with him out on the road. |

Have not gotten enough time in on the bikes, but plenty of running over the last two months. Hopefully the running will help my legs get through the ride. Now, my wrists are a whole other matter.

More to come today. It is colder so after I get done with work today, I am gonna crank up the fireplace in the room. A real wood fireplace- what are they thinking!! There are a ton of FEMA workers staying here cause of the tornato damages. I recognized a few from past disasters/ haz mat stuff. It is amazing the process of picking up the pieces that happens after the news cameras go away when there is a disaster. Our attention span is years shorter than the actual recovery. stepping down from the soap box now |
