And don't worry about those Blizzards! It has been unseasonably warm in the Midwest lately and they are off to a sluggish start - they may be melting! ; )

You best worry about those blizzards...you folks out west won't know what to do when a big one hits!

(starts planning target practice after swim workout....

GO BLIZZARDS!

I am not out west.  I am in Michigan so I do know a thing or two about snow - and blizzards!     I joined the Tri-Stars in the beginning of the month when it looked like the Blizzards weren't up for the Challenge.  A couple of days later the Blizzards pulled a team together but by then I was already signed up with a winning team!

By the way, it is sunny and fairly warm here in Michigan today - not a snowflake in sight.

GO TRI-STARS!!!!

I'll say it again, Uttriman is doing a great job and I think his enthusiasm is contagious.  I'm glad he's keeping us all on our toes with the information.  Thanks Brett!

I noticed that not only is everyone on target, it also looks like everyone is not just getting "junk" yardage in - they are also focusing on technique, drills, sprints in addition to the distance. Quality AND Quantity - AWESOME!!!GO TRI-STARS!!!

Good Morning TRISTARS!   --- It's Saturday afternoon, do you know what your yardage is??

Remember -- to be on pace everyone needs to be at approximately 49% of goal by tomorrow.  Are you there yet?

Remember -- log your swim -- or it doesn't count!

Keep up the great work Tristars!   Remember -- WE ARE THE TEAM THE OTHERS ARE TRYING TO BEAT!

LET'S DO IT!

Superior Effort Dragoman -- No "regular" pool available due to painting, and you still find a way to get 5100 meters in so far this month!  That's committment -- Keep up the SUPER work!

I hope your regular pool gets open soon!  Don't want you to have to kill yourself to finish!

GO TRISTARS!

Hehehe ... well, based on the novel I got the name from, "daremo" loosely translated means "nobody" or "nothing" so it works out well not having one.

I'm doing ok but just came down with a head cold exactly like the one that side-tracked me in December (I was not in that challenge-just had a monthly goal on my own).  Now my choice is to either try to swim through it to maintain pace on the month and risk making it worse or take 3-5 days off swimming which will mean having to do a ton the last week to catch up.  That's what I did  in Dec and it worked.  Just wondering what people think.

I'll make it either way, don't worry.  I have a great ability to torture myself when I need to so even if I have to breast stroke it with my head out of the water I'll cover the distance so I won't drag down the team.  If you see me down for the week I wanted everybody to know why, and not to worry.

Hangloose
So sorry to hear you are sick. I had a nasty headcold just before Christmas. But it only lasted a few days.... I'm a firm believer in the zinc tabs (like cold eeze, airborne, etc) and drink lots of orange juice or eat fresh fruit with vitamin C. If you take care of yourself now, it will go away quicker. I think if you try to swim you may be miserable longer. So take care of yourself, get better quickly...then get back to swimming.

Hope you feel better soon!!!

Just saw our Captain's PM, and I think I've got the lowest percentage of the team!

So I felt compelled to write. I completed a swim yesterday and am getting another swim in today (50%), another one on Thursday and possibly an OW on the weekend and should be on track by the beginning of next week.

A couple of "circumstances" are making this challenge quite interesting for me, but do not worry, I WILL GET MY 20K DONE THIS MONTH!

Go TRI-STARS!

I also felt compelled to write since I'm only at 40%! I was unable to swim last night - pool closure - but have made time Wednesday, Friday and over this coming weekend - I'll be on Target - I'm not going to be a weak link for this team!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week - Keep up the great work!!!!

For those who missed the 50% target, don't stress over it.  Everyone is doing their best and sometimes unforeseen circumstances get in the way.  Hey, even with illness and pool closures we are still kicking butt!  And we have 15 more days to get our swim on!

GO TRI-STARS!!!
