Crazypop - 2006-03-03 3:38 PMOh, Elly, I have been watching the 1999 and 2000 tour de france, trying to get the gumption to ride, well I noticed a guy finished a bike ride with his collarbone broken in 3 places. Now, if he can do that, I think, you should be able to ride with a measly broken arm Well, ok, I can't say nothing, I just have a broken will!

wow.. well I guess if I was in the Tour, I would suck up the pain and just finish the damn race too.  Now go get on your bike!!  What are you waiting for??!?!

It's a really nice day too on the island... To bad I'm stuck at work.  At least my puppy is here to entertain me.  She is nuts today!

Elly wasn't you cast in thermoplastic (color)? You know, it's sturdy enough to thunk it on someones head...hum maybe you should test that on someone WHO NEEDS TO GET ON THE BIKE and needs a sign from god to do it..."thunk" there's a sign!!

Well I think you guys are just making excuses for not sitting on a thin piece of rubber... at least you guys are running, which for me is my weak area.... although I have noticed that I have improved more and more on my running than any of the other 2 sports.... albeit, biking has not really been an issue for me, except for the strain it puts on my lower back, thus doing spinning classes will help me strenghten my core.

Elly just remember that when you get tired of running and you start pumping your arms harder, you DO NOT WANT TO HIT YOURSELF IN THE FACE....

As much as stationary bikes suck, I still really enjoy the workout... I love training (disclaimer: Emotional projections towards training may change suddenly or unexpectedly. Current expressions of enjoyment should not be held as an absolute for future training.)

Bike training... well today i did a shift at work with the bikes... first time on an actual bike since August last year.... it was tough... but not too bad... gonna keep hitting the pavement and gliding over it with rubber tires...

I am sick of the fake run and bike....

Thank god for West Coast weather!!!

For me the decision is easy
Cold windy weather on a beat up MTB

or

In a gym on a stationary where I can tune out into my own little world and not worry about getting hit by a car, and complaining about the wind.

Global - 2006-03-06 12:20 AM Here is our progress for week 1

James:

VERY cool spreadsheet ... but in the interest of utilizing a standardized format, would you please convert your results into the attached format that the other teams are utilizing?  I have no pride in authorship in that I unabassedly stole it from DRM's (Don) Florida Force run challenge tracking sheet. It will just make it easier to do the final calculations as well as 'stare and compare' throughout the challenge.

The weekly results should be posted to the "March Maddess Weekly Results" thread, which should shortly be 'push-pinned' to the top of the forum.

Also, if you have not done so, would you please post your team roster + goals to the "March Team Meeting" thread.

THANKS!

It was 50*(F) here in Georgia on Sunday when we finished our metric century, so I'd almost have sympathy for the cold Canadian weather ... if you didn't *SPANK* your friends to the south so hard in the February run challenge!

Yes we did give a good spanking to our southern neighbours, but thats all in the past now. It's time to spank you again in March.

Good job so far Everyone!  Make sure keep on those bikes .  Lets make sure that we keep encouraging each other to make our goals.  Take some time to send an inspire or 2, lets not let canada's rein at the top of the challenges end here!

to all the southerners: because the cold doesn't whip your face (like it does for us here), then Canadians must whip your a$$ . It's the law of balance

Remember, we won the run challenge in Feb, when it was really cold and snowy. Now that it is March we might actually see the odd temp above freezing. As time goes by it should get easier for us!!

GO CANUCKS!!

It looks like everyone is making good progress so far.  The only person not to register any time yet is Languid_Scribe.  Haven't heard anything or seen anything in the log.  I hope everything is ok.  Keep up the good work people!
