Elite 3779 Ontario | Subject: RE: Flo Cycling- Group buy? It's unfortunate about the delay, but as always please keep us posted with updates. If I have the race the beginning of the season without a deep front clincher, then it's no different than past seasons. Hopefully everything gets back on track and you can get these out by mid-season at the latest. |

Extreme Veteran 521 Coldstream ,BC | Subject: RE: Flo Cycling- Group buy? jdwright56 - 2011-02-20 4:09 PM I am going to have to agree with Scott. It is almost the end of February and the pre-order process has not begun yet, nor are the wheels ready for full production or testing. I would be surprised if it were before June when orders would start being filled. At that point, I have to be settled into a new set of wheels as we will be in the midst of the racing season. It's too bad, really, as I had great hopes for these wheels. Being a guy that buys wheels for several members of a team, I can't really afford to equip the bikes for this season and then re-equip them for next season. Maybe in a few years. I admit the disappointment of having to spend money we had planned on spending on these wheelsets on more expensive peices and thus limiting out ability to buy more sets is pretty large. Maybe I am wrong, but it really seems like this was posted to make them feel bad about not having their product ready. I would much rather wait for a quality finished product than buy something that was rushed off the assembly line. I just feel that it was an uncalled for cheap shot. |

It's a cheap shot because the user voiced his rational about why he/his group can't wait for production? I just don't see it. Hell the company stated that production would be underway. It's not and I understand that. There are always delays and hold ups with start ups. What I don't understand are individuals that are planning their race wheel selection and/or race season around a product that doesn't exist yet. Now don't get me wrong. I'm excited about the release of the Flo Cycling wheels as well. They could be a induce a major market shift as far as price goes if their wheels live up to the hype. I hope they do because that's a good thing. Edited by mktoson 2011-02-21 10:00 AM |

I would much rather wait for a quality finished product than buy something that was rushed off the assembly line. I just feel that it was an uncalled for cheap shot. Wow - you obviously don't know me very well. I said that I was disappointed becasue we had looked forward to maximizing our dollar with a product that we felt would be a quality item. As a not for profit foundation that is in our third year, we do not have a great deal of cash to spend on team items. We have added, in the past year, almost 20 members to our team and we would like to be able to provide each member with the same equipment. Yes, we are disappointed in the delays. I never said, and you will never hear anyone from our board say, that we felt that Flo is a bad company, that the guys are bad people, or that we have lost faith in the product. We were clearly stating that we were not going to be able to wait (as many of our racers will start their seasons in March and April) and we we were disappointed that we were not going to be able to take advantage of Flo's product and honest pricing. Our group has been very excited about a lower cost wheel that we could fund raise and uniformly put on all team bicycles and being in the financial situation that we are - not being able to buy new wheels evey year. We had been one of the biggest advocates and word of mouth advertisers in the Central Iowa area and I have been on this board, if you look back at other posts. The facts are, however, that the original statements by Flo were to be accepting pre-orders in the last quarter of 2010 and shipping in Q1. There was then a delay that placed pre-order in Q1 with delivery beginning in May. This has been delayed - whose fault that is I don't know, but it sounds as if there have been some issues with production and getting things "just right". Is that a part of being a start-up? Absolutely. Do I understand the issues? Absolutley. Does it lessen my disappointment in "what could have been"? Nope. Most importantly, do I think that the Flo guys have done anything wrong? Not at all. I think they are doing the right thing. I am just disappointed that our team can't be involved when they get all set to roll. Chris - if I in any way conveyed to you that I felt you were less of a person than I thought you were in the past, I hope that you accept my apoplogies. I hope that Flo takes off and does so well that when we get the ability to buy more wheels, we can look to Flo as a vendor for us. I am sorry if my comment read any other way. I remain a FB fan and a member of the mailing list. |

I remain a FB fan and a member of the mailing list. John, I would first like to thank you for your comments. You have not hurt my feelings and an apology was not needed. The problem with typing speech is that the tenor of a message is often misunderstood. I'd like to clarify that we never planned to offer a pre-order at the end of 2010. Our plans have always been to offer a pre-order in Q1 2011. This is the first official delay. I'm sorry if we have in anyway aided in your misunderstanding of this point. As a final note I would like to say that I admire the non-profit nature of your organization. Flo Cycling has all plans to offer a unique charitable opportunity as well. Final plans are being negotiated as we speak. Thank you for being a Facebook Friend and for joining our mailing list. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any future questions or concerns. |

Elite 3779 Ontario | Subject: RE: Flo Cycling- Group buy? As long as they ship via USPS we're fine. Yes we pay the tax, but only a $5 customs fee because of the deal with USPS and Canada Post. However if they ship it via courier, then you have to pay brokerage, and that can be upwards of $50 since the carriers charge a ridiculous amount for their broker fees. |
