Fun and games. You need to get NC to pass a constitutional ban on meetings! They would have to have 8 years of meetings just to do that! Nice! |

And get in shape. I think, I too resemble that remark. I have lost my mojo completely. And I have been gaining weight. And I also think (and say) "uh-oh" when I look in the mirror. And the scale. Help!
Ditto. But I have not decided on my plan of attack. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Good morning Ghoulies! You know... I have heard that some people lead normal lives. Sometimes I think that would be nice. Other times I think it would just be too damn boring! Thursday, Friday, Saturday this week is the local fireman's carnival. My husband's family has been running bingo since the beginning of time, that's where I met my husband. Anyway, we spend those three nights in at the firehall, so we don't have a lot of free time in the evenings. Because of this my son and I went running at 5:00 last evening, it was still 95 degrees. It was HOT. I started getting a headache about 3/4 of the way into a 2 mile run. I still have it. I took Motrin last night, and this morning, and it hasn't really helped. Anyway, with it being carnival time, we also had severe storms last night. That doesn't really bring the people out to a carnival to spend their money. The kids and I headed home around 8:30 between waves of the storm. We had no power when we got home. We went down to my MIL's, they're on a different power grid, so we could wash up, and get some cold drinks before going home. The power was on soon anyway, so we were good by bedtime. It is to be hot again today, but I think we will forego the run. We may do some P90X plyometrics or yoga in my nice cool basement. |

Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. I jumped in on the challenge. I think a big part of the problem is that I get overwhelmed. This race or that one, this training plan or that one, then a group run or something pops up. Then a different race. Then throw in the hubby's travel schedule & my night/weekend job, and, well, you get the picture. |

Oh, and my latest issue of Runners World says something about getting your mojo back. So, yeah. I will be setting some kind of goal, and reading a magazine article. That's a starting place. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. I've told you all before that I volunteer for the Park Service to help with the kayak classes. We have a class this afternoon. It was just going to be me, Donnie is covering the dining hall at the carnival tonight for his sister and Caleb was going to help him. The Park Service employee who usually runs the classes called me this morning and told me she had a headache and she asked me if I felt comfortable taking the class out without her. It is a full class, plus she had a couple of other people call and ask if they could still join. I hate to have her cancel, so I'm going to lead the class. Caleb is now coming with me to help. He will do my normal job of bringing up the rear and keeping an eye on everyone. He does a good job of talking to the people, too, and he has done the class enough I'm confident he will be able to answer most of the questions that people ask. Things rarely go as I have planned. |

Class went well. I think. There were 11 people in the class, 10 had never been in a kayak before. We did find a new, big, beaver dam in one of the channels we kayak through. I did get to point out a blue heron to people. Answered a lot of questions about kayaks and kayaking. Caleb answered some, too. It's a good thing I talk about them a lot, he knew what he was talking about. I did have one guy go in the water, but that was when he was getting in. Caleb went out first, showing people how to get in their kayak, then he stayed out in the water, to talk to people and keep an eye on things as they got on the lake. I was helping people get in, then giving them a push out into the water. One guy thought he could do it by himself. He probably could have if he wasn't in knee deep water when he tried to get in. He lost his balance. He laughed it off, then let me help him. I think everyone stayed to help clean up and put all of the equipment away, which made it nice for Caleb and I. I'd do it again if I had to. I did not take my kayak. It's considered a crossover, it's not as stable as the recreational kayaks, and if I would have had to switch boats with someone I wanted to have something stable to give them. Caleb took his though, his is a recreational kayak. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Morning Ghoulies. I had an amazing time at the 24-hours of booty. I didn't ride as much as I had hoped, but we were there primarily to volunteer and that we did with gusto. It was a fabulous event. I went with Mara (former Ghoulie-mentee) and she is amazing. A bundle of energy, smiles, givingness and laughter. It couldn't have been better.... well, except for the start-up- migrane I got. Oh... and the roaches where we slept could have been gone. Laundry and some chores today and maybe some farmers market hunting. I need to get on my summer-time canning. |

Robin, glad to know the booty ride was fun even though you didn't get to ride as much as you hoped. My daughter and her family arrived bright and early this morning. I only got to see the 3 yr old before I left for work. Well, and his daddy briefly as I could not leave with only a 3 yr old running around the house by himself. LOL. I work today and tomorrow and then I am off the rest of the week with them, except for the time out on Tue to get a colonoscopy. I am not looking forward to that. Tomorrrow I get to drink that crap all day long. |
