Anyone in HR?

Not sure I want to start a whole thread on this, but rolling around in my head "what's an appropriate raise to ask for"?

Situation would be re-locating to a different state with my company, same functional area but different/expanded role. I wouldn't do it if I didn't get more money (and re-location paid for) but not sure what is appropriate to ask for (percentage-wise) or what the protocol is.

All preliminary so don't get all excited. Tongue out

Jonah (jmk-brooklyn) and I are both in HR.

My thought would be to do your research. Not on "salary" websites, but find out what the Cost of living is there compared to where you are now. It's a legitimate question that most people are scared to ask. I, personally, wouldn't ask for X%, but rather say "after my research....blah, blah...I would like to ask for a $XXX raise to get me up to $XXX which is comperable for that area"

Also....have your "what I've done this year" ready to present.

Typical Corporate Limit is 15%.

Are you moving somewhere more expensive (from Kansas, I guess it's most likely more expensive where you are moving to) because then that should be factored in as well in cost-of-living change.  Good luck!

You can only get a Smith and Wesson Tat if you bought an actual Smith and Wesson and only fire smith and wesson ammo...

Is shooting a pistol, shotgun and rifle all back to back, is that considered a brick workout?

How much time did you take between the guns? When is a brick a brick...and not just two workouts?

I need to look up cost of living - it's in North Carolina but not a big metro area. Small community.
