mjh1975 - 2013-01-16 2:39 PM Slow day around these parts, huh?

Yup. Exciting, too.

I'm archiving and compacting my e-mail files.

That's possible with half-frozen fingers?

Any end in sight for the Great Office Freeze?

Check your email!

I got some cool new sun glasses coming!

Hey Cord.  What did you get?

I lost (really I was just too tired to go back up the hill to get them) my gascan Oakleys snowboarding so I got a new pair with the american flag as the side "O".

Hmmmm...you couldn't htfu?  Think you just wanted an excuse for new ones.

Today is my last day before shipping out for Army training, so it's over as soon as I leave

In reality, they had to order a part from somewhere... sucks for whoever is still here.

Oh, Cord, one more website for you. Gear Trade dot com. (didn't know if BT would filter)

This is where people can sell used gear... and where Backcountry sells their returned items. I've bought/sold there a few times.

This looked like a Yanti TAN title!

Well, they pulled my uncle off life support and he passed. I guess it was probably for the best all things considered.

My condolences, Jim

"For the best" rarely makes it much easier, but as I saw someone say elsewhere today - "sometimes the difficult thing and the right thing are the same thing".

just looked at my calendar, a US Navy history calendar, and saw that it was 22 years ago today that Operation Desert Storm began.  Wow, it doesn't feel that long ago... and my butt was safely parked in an enlisted club at the time the President came on TV to tell us.

PSA: you know it is not such a good idea to give yourself a shot in the arm shortly before going to the gym for a power day on chest. Owwwwie...

I lived near a military air base when DS started. The HC130s took off for days straight? I had to keep making sure stuff didn't fall off my shelves.

Sometimes when you're a cop you handle calls of people you know. I have lived in the same community my entire life (except when I went to college) so unfortunately I've had to deal with people I 've known a for 30 some years. Today I responded to an overdose and found a person I went all through school with dead from a prescription pills overdose. So sad. 40 years old, addicted to pills and now dead. Makes you appreciate life a little more.

Not as much rough and kinda weird. I had heard a while back he was having marriage problems and was using pills but I didn't expect this from him. So I was caught off guard. I also didn't know where he lived so when I arrived I had no idea until I went into the residence and found his body.

That had to have been pretty surreal.
