That's a pretty big difference between those two choices. I hadn't noticed that. I did Extra Shot + Fight Club Remastered. I wouldn't feel right calling it the tour if I skipped one of the rides. Edit: I think that's just clarifying you can do either of the Fight Club options. You still have to do Extra Shot. Edited by BernardDogs 2013-01-28 7:26 AM |

Veteran 1677 Houston, Texas | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread Finished Stage 3 this morning. Seriously, Extra Shot with no warm-up (and at 4am) is just cruel. Felt good cardio-wise, but my legs were feeling it. Here's to hoping they find a little something before tomorrow's stage
jonD81 - 2013-01-28 4:59 AM Anyone else see how they changed Day 3 to "Extra shot + Fight Club" OR "Fight Club Remastered". That's a pretty big difference between those two choices. I read it as "Extra Shot + Fight Club" or "Extra Shot + Fight Club Remastered". The original and remastered versions don't look terribly different from one another, so I'm assuming that's what they were going for. |

If anyone cares, my TR ID is the same: jblamb1401. Right there with you. Extra Shot starts hard and drains you pretty good. I didn't have much left for the Fight. |

Extreme Veteran 645 Media, PA | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread Glad to be done with stage 3 yesterday, was really dreading doing Fight Club after Extra Shot. Even at 90%, my legs were feeling it. Feel better today after a good nights sleep, and decided to wait until after work to do stage 4. Kettlebell class this morning wasn't too bad either. |

I read it as either/or, but I was thinking the same thing that you can't skip a ride like that. I wasn't thinking in terms of videos, if someone purchased the remastered FC then it's fine to do it with ES. I think the double ride in stage 3 will drop a lot of people too. I'm definitely feeling it this morning although I won't ride until 7 tonight. |

Extreme Veteran 801 Ballston Spa, NY | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread jblamb1401 - 2013-01-28 9:42 AM I can't believe 400+ people have dropped. I would imagine stage 3 will up that number quite a bit more. Yea, it's higher than I thought. I had signed up before I found out I couldn't do the whole thing. So I'm sure there are some people that could handle it (me) but it's just not fitting into the training schedule. |

It decided to blow-up on Fight Club. I was 12 minutes into it when it snapped. Time to get a replacement and repeat the suffering tonight. |

Everything that has been stated has expressed the requirement that they're done together. You've got more legs than I've got. |

What is really brutal is I am not off to Army PT, work, Masters Swim tonight (3k or so), then Stage 3 again. I might skip Masters tonight. |

Master 1460 Burlington, Vermont | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread Side conversation: I was probably due for the 20 minute test, but didn't want a new FTP for the tour so I decided to wait until after it was done. Don't get me wrong ... I'm enjoying plenty of suffer. What are you anticipating for impact on your bike fitness from these 9 days? I'm currently at 228 and will probably retest the following weekend. If I did 9 days of speed focused work for my run, I might see some nominal gains at the shorter race distances within a week or two, so I'm optimistic I might pull myself up by 10-15 FTP points. |

I am anticipating a pretty big jump in mine cause I did my test with no bike legs what so ever. This is pretty much my re-introduction to my bike after a long time off it. And trust me, can I ever tell while doing stage 3. I had to talk myself into not quitting Edited by bzgl40 2013-01-28 9:58 AM |

Going to break them up or keep going B2B? I think I will probably keep them back to back maybe with a bit of rest in between. (So I can refill water bottles and change bib shorts.) |

If I did 9 days of speed focused work for my run, I might see some nominal gains at the shorter race distances within a week or two, so I'm optimistic I might pull myself up by 10-15 FTP points. I got my trainer back right around Thanksgiving and it was the first I had ridden since the summer really. Bombed my first FTP test because of pacing, so I took that as a hint to start slow and work my way up. I worked through December, constantly raising it by 10 or so when I thought I need more of a challenge. Re-tested 12/29 and got back up around 200 and evened it off at 200 before the Tour. 3 days ago I got a new bike and I did a short test ride and it just felt like butter, so I raised it another 5 before the start of the tour knowing that I'd be in a world of hurt anyway. Maybe it's the bike or the time on the bike but I feel like after this 9 days if I do another test (3rd total, so I have the pacing down) I could be up another 15-20, so roughly 10%. |

New user 20 Chesterfield, VA | Subject: RE: Official Tour Of Sufferlandria Thread I'm also optimistically hoping that my FTP will get pushed up 10+ points from this. I'll probably retest the following weekend as well when my legs will hopefully be back to normal. If anything I think the workouts throughout this Tour will certainly help with mental toughness needed for that 20 min test. I have my TR FTP set at 285 currently but I've slowly been adding 5 watts to it every other week or so when the workouts start to feel too easy, I just couldn't really stomach the thought of doing another test for awhile. I got a Continental trainer tire in November and re-tested my FTP at 315 which I was pumped about. Then a few weeks later after reading some things, I attempted another test except tightening the back wheel down 5 full turns on my KK and I got a serous reality check and the FTP was dropped down to 270. After that second test I told myself I'd take some time before attempting that again. |

Can you point us to where you saw this? It's contrary to what I see. Additionally ... there will be plenty of ridicule from the minions of Sufferlandria if you opt for the break. I'll be keeping the two remaining doubles back to back. |
