Still going strong here. I may decide to add a few seconds onto my side planks this week.

Dang, that sounds ridiculously tough. When you say back bridge, what do you mean? Either lying on back and raising legs or feet on floor and pulling up thru the pelvic and leaving shoulders on floor and forming a bridge. And is the push-up position a hand plank? Not ready for the whole thing but want to insure I understand so I can do right when I move to the big leagues.

The Ladder is the real bear, especially the 50"/1'/50" part.

For the back bridges, it's shoulders on the ground and knees at a more-or-less 90 degree angle.  The important part is to make sure you're pushing your pelvis up to get your body flat from shoulder to knee.  It's easy to get lazy and let your pelvis drop.  For extra fun, do one leg only, with the other extended.  :-)

For push-up planks, you are on your hands with extended arms like the top of a push-up.

Isn't the ladder plank the one where you start in a push-up position then reach for the sky with one arm and leg?

I think I need to up my game a bit as well... Nothing as psychotic as jmhpsu93, but definitely more intensity (and consistency ) needed!

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't realize that the bridge was considered a plank. While I'm not ready for the full rotation plan, I did a modified version today. 1 min plank, 2 1-min side planks, 1 hand plank, and then 1 minute bridge. Found that my downfall is the break time because I had roughly 20 to 30 sec break in between each. I don't think I'll ever be able to do the full rotating, or the ladder, because the short break would kill me. Thanks for bringing these up tho!

I guess it really isn't, but it's a great complimentary exercise as it's a static strength move that works the same stabilizer muscles as the plank, though in a different way.

One week ago my eight year old son challenged me to a plank-off. Without explaining the ugly details : I ended up ashamed and beaten after giving it my best for one minute and one second, trembling so much at the end of a single minute that it must have been registered on the richter scale somewhere.

So the last six days, after he has gone to sleep, I plank. I plank to regain my respect and beat my sons time of a 2 minute and 30 second plank! I WILL NOT STAND THIS

I hope it´s ok I join you guys a little late, and that every one of us reaches our planking goals, whatever the motivation!

I am going to have a problem with this. My kid (26 yrs old) can hold herself from a sign post as a "human flag" and can plank for 5 minutes! I am going to have to rely on trickery to keep myself in the Queen position!

Today's plankapalooza was 5 x 45" on the 1' as a cool down after almost two hours on the trainer.

I was actually enjoying the planks after sitting that long.  :-)

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys :-) It's good to know I now have a support team of grown-ups agains this rebel activity of my 8-year old.

Oh my. This puts things in perspective for me. But it could have been worse. What if this had been one of your children : Plankapalooza.

Todays horizontal freeze : 1 minutes 23 seconds.

A four+ hour plank is insane! I'm hoping to build up to 10 minutes by the end of the year. The last few days I lost my planking mojo so I do one plank just to keep the streak going. Day 19 in the books!
