Veteran 216 | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL that is just what junkies do, get other people hooked (HA HA) went to fit day and was not happy with my little graph for food choices today! i'll make better ones tomorrow (here's hoping) also found a cool site, mapmyrun.com. you can put in an address and it brings up a map of that area, then you click to map out your run and it gives you the distance. no more running and then hopping in the car to clock out the distance. i thought it was cool. hope everyone had a great weekend and here's to another great training week!

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL I do the same thing at usatf.org/routes/map - too funny!!! (It gives elevation changes too, just incase mapmyrun doesn't (and you really want to know).) I'd ask for a GPS/Garmin, but after the ipod and the HRM, I'm starting to feel a bit like Mr. Gadget already. (That, and I'd rather spend my extraneous good-will money on bike shoes and tri-suits....I'm worried hubby is starting to catch on to the expense of my new-found sport. Excellent spin class & lifting today. Tomorrow back in the pool! It finally got a bit nippy here today (50's) but I'm hoping to move my long run to Wednesday this week to avoid the 2-a-day problem from this weekend. (Instead I'll do a short run on Saturday after swimming lessons.) Hope everyone else is doing great! |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL NOOOOO! Don't let us slip onto page 3!!!! I swam today while daughter was in swimming lessons...I feel like I had crappy form, but I made 350m! Anyway, I just didn't want us to slip off the face of the earth! (I also felt an unabated need to use lots of exclamation points!)!! Kristen |

New user 11 | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL Thanks to all for the daily inspiration! Apparently I'm a bit thick because every time I try to reply to an "inspire me" it comes right back to me-duh. I figure you have to go directly to the persons log who sent to you? Anyhow, this board and the support have gotten me pumped up for great year and I have learned a lot from all of you already! My week started off bad with my father in law passing away and my mother in law moving in with us temporarily (can't take care of herself)-wow! It's been really crazy- normally this would put me into a overeating, wine drinking no exercising rut, but being accountable to this group helped me decide to NOT take the easy way out and give up on my goals and training. I accept that things will be challenging for a while, but I will keep moving forward! You all inspire me! Thanks, Lachele |

Veteran 216 | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL so sorry to hear about you father in law. i will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. good for you for keeping up with your promise to yourself about better health, although a little wine may be appropriate here. the excersise can accually be theraputic. my father in law died in july of 05 and then we had a lot of responsiblities with my mother in law so if you need an ear, i'm here for you.
btw, if you just click the blog button on the inspire as you are reading it, you will be taken to the sender's log to reply. Edited by mosc11 2007-01-10 11:20 AM |

Veteran 155 Decatur, GA | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL I'm sorry to hear about your father in law too. Losing someone is always difficult. And taking on extra responsibilities is difficult as well. Good for you for making good decisions for yourself in the midst of that. Although wine and binging may make you feel good temporarily, eat well, staying away from alcohol, and keeping up with your exercise will ultimately make you feel the best. And it can help you cope better in the long run. Allow yourself lots of grace in the coming weeks and allow some grace for you family too. |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL Hey ladies! Hope the training is going well...and just in case you haven't peeked at our fearless leader's log, she points out the finer points of showering at the gym. (Me, I can't stand it and will stay sweaty and stinky until I get home or longer, if necessary.) So, in her honor, I propose a question - do you have a weird training factoid to share? Mine - I LOVE running through this one neighborhood where there must be a ton of folks doing laundry on the days I do my long runs, because the air is saturated with the smell of dryer sheets. How about you? |

on another note...when we get ourselves a little put back together. (injuries healed, family life not so chaotic) would anyone be up for a challenge with another group? we could do a challenge for total workout minutes maybe starting march 1. of course in the spirit of sibling rivalry we could challenge my sister's group (i know she stalks our thread and i hers) but what do you think? i was in a challenge in november and found it very motivating. |

Master 1888 Winder, GA | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL I can't think of an interesting factoid right now, I'm sure will come to mind later...... As far as a challenge goes, I'm up for it! When you said March 1, did you mean February 1? I don't know who's in your sister's group but I bet we could beat them!

Veteran 216 | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL brought up the challenge idea with mary tonight and she liked the idea, will propose it to her group. my thought is that if we do february that it would be a total minutes goal and everything would count. yoga, walking, strength you name it. on march 1 we total the minutes for the groups and winner gets bragging rights.
for our group i'll add incentive to whomever (or is it whoever)gets the most minutes on our team i'll send you a $10 gift card for you favorite guilty pleasure (like starbucks etc.) i'll wait to hear back from her group (marymosc13) they call themselves the V.A.M.P.S, check the thread for an explanation on that one, and i'll let you all know. |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL Hey all! I just peeked over on marymosc's thread and it looks like our challenge is going to be accepted! YEAH! We definitely need to help Carol keep up her family honor. So my gripe of today - I went to our local triathlon store (yes, we have one - weird) and asked to see the tri-shorts. They told me they don't carry them in the winter and that I'd have to come back in March. Now, I was probably going to try them on but buy them online anyway, because I'm cheap, but if the local store had a decent price I would have taken them up on it...but they don't even CARRY THEM! ARGH. ARGH. ARGH. So, I guess I'm going to buy them sight-unseen from some online place with a decent return policy. Oh well. Looking forward to the challenge. Keep up the excellent training! Veteran 155 Decatur, GA | Subject: RE: mosc11's Group - FULL I got my tri-shorts at REI. Again, don't know if they carry them all year. I think the challenge will be fun. And, Carol, we'll definitely help you keep your family bragging rights. I logged 600 minutes last week and I was trying to take an easy week. |
