Veteran 228  Greenbelt, MD | Subject: RE: November "You Choice" Challenge Team 7 Got my workout in as planned...my typical route of 1.91 miles around the local lake (trivia here, did you know the state of Maryland has no naturally occurring lakes? they are all man made). It was nice and just a hint chilly and overcast...absolutely perfect...how I love the Fall. Glad I chose to start working out now because it makes it so much easier to be out among the fall colors. Managed to run the whole 2 minutes I was scheduled to run on my couch potato to 5k plan in one shot (last time I did it in 1 minute intervals)...granted I don't know if a pace of 13.33 min/mile really classifies as running, but it was faster than my fast walk...and I definitely have room to improve! But if I keep that pace, I'll be running over a half mile by the end of the month so that seems like progress if all goes as planned. Hope everyone else had a good workout today if you were scheduled for one. |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: November "You Choice" Challenge Team 7 i just ran, i have to log it still, but i did 6.3--i would have liked to do another mile--but lets face it, i was whooped, so i crawled home  ok. off to log-land. my legs are tightning up too, so i need some water, and a shower too ok, that averages out to just under 9 mms!! wow! and i think i posted the names i liked the best, goalkickers, and kangaroos-or was it boxing kangaroos? Each week, your Team Captain will fill out the spreadsheet, marking your progress towards your GOALS. The "week" will run Saturday to Sunday. (This will allow you to cram in all those weekend sessions!) I will start a thread called "Nov Challenge Team Leaders Thread." Please post your team's results there by Monday evening each week. (Sunday is fine, if you have them ready. But I figured I'd give you the extra day, in case you need to To attach a file to a post: While writing a post, look at the bottom of the box. You'll see options to include a signature and enable emoticons. Directly below that is "Attach a file after posting." Check that box. You will then be able to attach your spreadsheet to your post. If you have questions, or need better instructions about this, feel free to ask. (Contact me via the original November Challenge thread, at the very top of the screen. Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: November "You Choice" Challenge Team 7 Opening day: 12 mile bike, (40 min) 5k 30:30 8). Felt great. Almost no lead to my legs on the run at all. Mile 1 10:00 Mile 2 10:00 Mile 3 9:30 with kick at 8mph. Ohmygosh a slight increase in endurance and thats 2:30 better than my brick from last week on the run portion. We see how I feel tomorrow. Oh Intro thing. 40 years old, married 18 years, kids 15, 12, 9, 5, 2 years old, live in CA, work as School Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist and Program Specialist and any other jobs my boss can find to squeeze ito my day. I think I posed above I'm like 10 weeks into this whole training for Tri's thing, have lost 30 ish pounds from a high of 180 this summer and have my first sprint tri planed for early December in LA area. I have no acces to swiming so I will be um winging it for the tri. Dang 9 min miles for 6 miles.... gona be some time for me to get that fast. I'm still sucking it up to finish 6 miles at 10:30 pace ish I think, next longer run not till monday I think. Halloween, out of town training, etc. all screwing up my schedule. |
