Extreme Veteran 461 Minnesota | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild I ran 3 miles today, but swam yesterday and will be swimming tomorrow. I have 3 swims a week scheduled in along with some runs and biking. I start my half-marathon training the middle of January, so I'm hoping that next month is a run challenge Great job everyone! |

Extreme Veteran 504 Tucson, AZ | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild I got my first swim in today. I ranked mine in hours not distance as I had no idea how fast I would swim. I completed one hour. My goal is seven for the month. I am scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday of next week and I may try to squeeze in an hour on Sunday. It went much better than I thought, I was nervous about it... It had been a long time. Thanks to everyone for their encouraging words. Now, where to I tally my hour? I understand there is a spreadsheet somewhere? |

I understand there is a spreadsheet somewhere? YAY EMERSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One hour? That's a GREAT swim! WAY TO GO! Glad to hear it went well. Here's the post I wrote about the spreadsheets. (It's the 2nd post on page 1 of your team thread.) ************************** Swim Team A's Google Spreadsheet is now available! 1) Go to: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=puhAA5NRKHA2kJJE6R4DhYQ&hl=e... 2) You will need to enter this info: email address: [email protected] password: challengeforum 3) The ONLY column that you will need to update is "Total Completed to Date." This is the total amount that you have completed as of the reporting date. 3) You can update the spreadsheet as often as you'd like. However.... Your cumulative amounts must be entered in this spreadsheet by Sunday evening, your time on the following days: - Jan 6 - Jan 13 - Jan 20 - Jan 27 - Jan 31 4) If you have trouble using this spreadsheet, please let your Team Captain know. He/she will be able to help you, or will enter the data for you. If you have any questions, just let me know! Welcome to the January Challenge! Dee and Beth |

Jeni, Thanks, I will leave it up to you. I have some free time on Sunday so I may slip in another hour. I was very slow and careful this time and with a group getting a lot of good instruction. I only filled my nose three times... If I am left alone, I will shoot for 1,000 YDS -- 40 laps. It took a lot of effort but it fealt very good. Again, thanks for taking care of this. I hope it will be two hours!!! |

I've been amazed at how quiet the pool has been - it seemed a lot busier in November and early December. Not that I'm complaining!! The new rec center that I just signed up for this week has NO ONE swimming in the pool! I swim in the afternoon and there was only one elderly couple in the pool area. One was in the hot tub, the other was just milling about. I LOVED having the pool to myself! Today my girlfriend and I will be going to the pool together. She has such an easy time with swimming... has had no problems at all after day one. She can crank out MILES of swimming with minimal effort. So it'll be interesting to see what her swim technique looks like. I don't feel like I'm struggling, but I know that I wouldn't be able to go swim a mile right now. |

Expert 957 Charlotte, NC | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild sdbryant - 2008-01-02 8:15 PM Hi everyone. I'm Sarah, from Vancouver, WA. This is my first challenge! My goal is 15,000 for the month. But I did a 5k swim on New Year's day, so I guess my goal is a little weak... Whatever, 15k is 15k, right? I started training for tris this past spring and have done 2 sprints. Aiming for some olympics this year and maybe a half IM. I'm having knee issues right now, so will be spending quality time in the pool in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for letting me join! 5k swim? That's awesome...last season I did a couple of 3400's and eventually got bored and hungry and gave up. |

Expert 957 Charlotte, NC | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild Finally....I'm on the board....1500yds today. That's my shortest swim in the last year but it's also the first time in 2 mos I've been in the pool. I guess that will do for now. Masters class is gonna hurt next week 'cause I've lost all my swim fitness. |

Extreme Veteran 461 Minnesota | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild Nice job everyone! Way to get that yardage posted I swam 900 yards today. This is officially the furthest I've done since I started swimming 2 months ago. It really is amazing to look back to my first time in the pool and how I could not make it halfway across the pool without feeling like I was going to die. I was able to get up to 150 yards continuous today... 100 was the furthest up until today. My GF was swimming with me today and she watched my form and said that I looked really good. All the little improvements are adding up! I won't be able to swim now until Monday, but I have a very good start at almost 17% of my goal accomplished! I probably could have had a higher goal, but I was worried after not making my goal last month. |

LOL Of course not, your job is to leave us sitting on the edge of our seats all day long wondering what Dee will come up with next time. It fills the emptiness of our conventional lives... Ohhh I think the BS is getting a little thick... Between a full time career, taking care of my home, my wife, training, etc. I don't get a lot of things done... And, in some ways, if it is not that important, I don't care. All jokes aside, you are a dear to take the time to brighten so many days for so many people. I am glad to have you as a friend. Well, maybe you like Carona on the beach. I don't drink beer much, but on a hot mexican beach, it is a good thing.... with a lime even better... EK |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild Nope, I don't drink. Not even beer. It kind of evolved out of a conversation.... about being on vacation.... on a beach.... and not coming back.... Then someone suggested it was "the impossible dream" and added that it was like a beer commercial. So I put all that together and.... voila. |
