Hey guys -
Thanks to those who have left inspires in my log - sorry I have been MIA - work is crazy insane right now (down from 5 to 1 for the week) and the busiest part is coming up. You know it is bad when you state to your boss that you will be on the conference call shortly but you might need a stiff drink after and he gives you his permission. I told him not to tempt me.

I am ok I think as far as being on track. Realized I left 5 miles for me to run to meet goal after my half mary on the 21st but that shouldn't be a problem. I was able to run 5 on tuesday and hopefully 3 tonight after 11 on Sunday. Really wanted to do 12 this weekend on Saturday but it might mean an early start due to appts. Might just have to do it on Monday and two short runs next week and my first 1/2 Mary.  I AM SO NERVOUS but it is kind of cool they are showing the finish line online so people all over can watch. So my family can watch from states away to me finishing and looking like death. YAY!

Ok back to work. Gotta fit 3 mile run in somewhere today. Meeting until 7:30pm tonight.

Stacie

QueenZipp - 2010-11-11 1:12 PM I got my swim in today.  As soon as I got to work I had to leave to pick up my daughter.  She had another asthma attack at school and was wheezing [retty bad.  We spent the morning in the ER.....SHe's okay now.

Glad to hear she's ok now... Asthma is pretty scary.  My sister spent almost every weekend for the first couple years of her life in and out of the ER because of asthma, but now she doesn't suffer from it at all anymore.

mbasta - 2010-11-11 7:59 PM Morning Crushers!!

I had another Coke free day yesterday... so that's 3...

DON'T READ BELOW IF SENSITIVE OR EATING

I have a run scheduled for today, but the skin on my feet is falling apart. Oh, it's sooo gross. I took a picture and won't post it on this thread because some people will definitely get upset. I was thinking of posting it with a warning in the injury thread... but still fear trouble from mods. Not sure what the rules are.

Here's the problem - I get the blisters, as previously discussed. The friction that causes them usually moves in one direction which releases a couple layers of skin and pushes it to the side of the irritated area - think a big irritated circle with a little extra skin pushed over. Sometimes there is so much pulling that the non skin build up side rips... OUCH and gross. I have the worst one I've had so far, from only a 4km run, but might have been started during my recent 10km. There's quite a bit or raw skin exposed and I'm concerned about my next run - supposed to be today! And I have another 10km on the weekend.

Does anyone else have super soft skin? I think that's my problem. I beat my feet up over and over but the skin just never toughens up. Oh - and I use body glide too! It works wonders at not letting the blisters bubble up and normally keeps the area from tearing.

Some people have suggested new socks, but I wonder if it will help me. I will have to try because I don't want to stop running!

Moleskin. Second Skin. Protect the raw areas and not just with Body Glide.

Post the pics. I Posted Pics of the underside of my breast when it got sliced by a sports bra, and of giant foot blisters, and of the deep gashes I got in my foot that I ran Oceanside 70.3 in.

Hey. There's a 9-page thread in TT about crapping your pants, so, trust me, you're fine on the pics and we/people can help.

What kind of socks you running in, and at least tell us where the blisters are?

I agree, post the pictures.

Are the blisters all on the underside of your foot or, and I'm sure you have thought of this, are they near a seam in your runners? I'm not much help I'm afraid, I have pretty tought feet usually and run in vibrams right now. Ever thought of trying them? I'm sure you wouldn't get blisters because they are like wearing a sock, no movement and no friction.....

Oh, Melissa, just realised I asked where the blisters were and you had already posted...
I looked at the other thread too and I hate to say it but that is about the only spot I have ever had blisters from running before and new shoes fixed it....

TriAya - 2010-11-09 12:23 PM I'm very tired. This is probably due to doing two major things today. Do I need to sleep, or have Pop Tarts?

Oh, of COURSE. Pop Tarts, then sleep.

Sleep??  What is this sleep you people talk of??  We must not have that in college

LOL...  I often wonder what the heck happened to me.  I survived college with NO sleep.  And then I got old?  Or can I just blame the kids?

I slept on the floor in the library sometimes. One year I had a schedule of 8am-7pm with holes in the middle and I was a commuter.

LOL  I slept through biology one day.  about 200 people in the most boring lecture ever.  The girl who sat in front of me was nice enough to wake me up when the roll sheet was being passed around so I'd get counted for coming to class

I once woke myself up in class by farting.

Oh, Lawd, that's funny!!!

did you wake anyone else up?

Progress report -

4 Coke free days/10 : on track!
4 runs/12 : was on track until skin issues...
0lbs lost/5 : I wish i didn't put this in the challenge since the team is depending on everyone's success...
1 scarf/1 : complete!!

I'm going to finish the 10/10 Coke free days, might need to reduce my runs due to injury because I want the thing on my foot to stop being raw before I try running with the new socks I'm going to buy today. I'm sorry about the weight loss - I was down 1, which I think will return tomorrow, but I need to work on my nutrition. Making a new plan for that today. I also want to use the elliptical on non-run days.

GO CRUSHERS!!

Good morning, Crushers!  How is everyone?

I've been beyond busy since last weekend and things are looking to stay busy until Sunday.  I haven't even had time to play on BT.  This morning I decided to have breakfast at the computer desk and get in a little internet time.  Multitasking at it's finest.

I'm not liking our work email software. I just learned that deleting a folder of email doesn't delete the email in the folder. First time I've run into that. It's not wonder I have problems keeping my email below the max. So now I'm going back and deleting emails dating back to 2005 when we started using this program. I selected the emails and pressed delete. That was 20 minutes ago. Its still thinking. Is it locked up or it still working? Who knows. My PC isn't locked up so that's good news.

pdbman - 2010-11-12 11:42 PM Hello Crushers! Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

Nothing exciting planned, but mainly that's because all I have to do for fireworks to go off is leave my front door.

At least, that's what happened tonight.

Got paid to stuff myself with all-u-can-eat, all-u-can-drink 5-star food, hang out with my friends by the beach and listen to a really good jazz band, and watch TWO fireworks shows.

Typical Friday night. I hope the rest of the weekend is quieter, but I doubt it, as I will in fact be leaving my house on several occasions.
