Alex: I totally want to hang out at a soccer tournament... sounds like so much fun.

Doug: Congratulations on hitting your weight goal. That is fantastic.

The sun has already gone down - looks like I am hitting the trainer again tonight. Happy Friday Everyone!

good to see everyone getting some workouts in!

I know I have troubles with my weekends as I tend to eat and drink in excess. My plan for weekend is couple of happy hour beers with the inlaws, than I coach my son's hockey game tonite.

Tomorrow...bacon and eggs for breakfast. Go on cycle trainer. (skipped my run after yesterdays workouts)

Sunday, spin class, coach my 5 yr old daughter's first ever hockey game(super fun).

That will complete my weeks goals that I set out to complete!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Wow - you should celebrate with an ice cold molsenWink

GOOD morning everyone!  Actually I should say great morning, weighed in today at 213, that is lower than I have been in over a year actually about 18 months.  Less than before I quit smoking and chewing tobacco (which I credit with gaining a lot of weight).  Pretty happy this morning.

Anyway, we have a busy day planned going birding this morning out at the lake, going to take down all the Christmas decorations, get in my workout, and this evening splurge a little.  We are watching the Green Bay game with friends and having mostaccioli and stuffed tomatoes for supper, and probably even a little red wine!  Have a great Saturday everybody!

8/11 for the month.  Put in 2 workouts today.  Tomorrow is a rest day.  Well if you can call it that since i will be at the soccer fields from 8:30 to 2:30 for our first tournament.  We got this.  Our team name is, get ready, remember they are 7 and 8....."Dream Killers" Don't ask how they came up with this but they did.

Smoked the run.  All the juicy details are in my log.

Dream Killers, that is a intimidating name for 7-8 yr olds. Hope the tourney goes well for ya!

Ok, how are we counting our 30/30?  20 mins counts as one?

I am exhausted...awoke at 3:30, couldn't get back to sleep until about 15 mins before the alarm went off...hit the snooze, a lot!  What woke me up was the baby crying...he had a bad tummy ache, left late, two inches of snow on the ground...barely made it to work on time, (usually 20 mins to a half an hour early)...I am exhausted! Oh said that!

Ate horribly yesterday, buffet at the casino with some friends from work.  No need for dinner still too full.  No time for breakfast this morning but I did grab an egg white, spinach & mushroom omlet on a whole wheat bagel at 10 this morning!  Yummo!

I am supposed to drive to So Cal this weekend and have plans to go to Disneyland...not sure if that is going to happen since it snowed in Northern Los Angeles and they are expecting more bad weather.  Bitter sweet, excited about disneyland but hate to give the kid back...I will miss him terribly!

Enjoy your weekend!

Congratulations on the weight loss. I can't weight(pun intended) to say the same thing. Enjoy your game and expect to put some lbs back on after the celebrating, but know it will be right off once you knuckle down this coming week. Enjoy!!!!!

6 mile run this morning with the first mile at a blistering 10:19. That is actually fast for me so please no laughing.Laughing.

14/30 workouts completed towards goal of 30/30. Should not be an issue getting in 16 more with almost 3 weeks left. I might have to see if I can get 40/30.

Those of you who have teams left playing in the NFL enjoy the weekend. I am a Raiders fan and our season was over back in August of 2000.

I'm going to think about drinking a beer or two today but won't as I am hammering at weight loss. My training partner and I today just dicussed going out and having  a couple drinks once we reach an undetermined short term goal so it looks like i will get to taste that golden refreshment sooner than later.

to everyone here- keep after it, don't put off what can be done today for tomorrow.

10:19...That is fast for me too man! Great Run.

Great idea about short term goals, my wife and I are discussing our cheat meal for February 1st, we have been trying Paleo for the month of January.

I think after my weigh in on Sunday I will set a weight loss goal for myself as well, and link it to a beer reward of some sort, again great idea.

Good quote to finish it off too!

I am already thinking about my goals for next week guys and I am wondering if you can help me with something.

I would like to start a Run specific training plan that culminates in a half marathon the end of May. I would like to ideally do 3 Runs/ 1-2 Swims/ 1-2 Bikes/ 2 Crossfit classes. Any ideas or plans you have followed like this? I have been looking through plans all day. I am just going to pull the trigger on one soon, but I figured all you crazy pavement pounders may have some good tips!

Jared that is stellar news !  So not only have you kicked the habit but you've also dropped the weight.  I'd say that you've earned the right to spurge a lot.  As Thor was saying - there is a reason why we do this - so we can be happy and healthy.  You're both so tonight, when you are thinking about saying no to that second or third glass of vino - say yes and then think of all that work and how hard you've had to work to make it happen as you enjoy every sip!

Prediction on the game tonight?  It's gonna be good.  I'm gonna say the 49ers win...

Al Davis would be proud of what you have been able to accomplish.  It's the drive to succeed at all cost that made those teams so good and that have allowed you to kick some a$$ in the 30/30 challenge while moving closer to your weight goals.

As a Bay Area fan - are you rooting for the 49ers or are you a cheese head out of spite?

Enjoy that icy cold beverage whenever it comes!

My 2 best marathons came after doing something very similar to ^^.  I ran 3x, s/b2x.  don't forget the rest day.  1 recovery run, 1 intermediate length, and 1 long run.  that's a good recipe for success.

11/30 down.  This was my longest run in quite a while and longest for this training cycle. 11.6 miles at 8:30/mi pace in the suck.  The bad thing about snow is when they plow and you have to pick your way through the muck.

I had a training misshap the other day rolling the ankle, then pi$$ed out on my s/b double.  I started getting knots (cramps, spasms) in my left calf the other day OOOOUUCCHH!  I needed this run to get back on track.  I have a 4.15 miler scheduled tomorrow that I may stretch out to a 6.2 miler as punishment for sleeping in on my s/b day.  It's either that, or I have to shotgun a warm coors light.  What say's the BDAS?  run an extra 2 miles, or shotgun a warm coors?

Run the 2 miles. However, if you bail, then you will have to run an extra 10k with a warm Coors Light at each mile - the "six pack o' shame"!Good luck with it. Matt

Charles - I believe you have hit the nail on the head.  It's time to start taking a bar or some gu with you before you head out on a run.  I also think part of the reason why you are tired is because you are putting in some serious milage (especially in the run) and haven't given yourself a break in a month.  I'd try to squeeze in an easy week and see how you feel.

Advice so good I might just have to take it

2,000 yards in the pool today, with an average page of 2:40/100yd, which is absolutely smoking for me.  Almost all of it was with the pull buoy, but it was also continuous, with a short break at the midway point.  My form is good and getting better, so I am happy with that.

Also a typical spin class to complete by brick for the week, bringing me to 12 workouts for the month.

To recap this week, my nutrition is back on track, but I'm up 6 pounds over my pre-holiday weight, which means I gained around 10 pounds over the holiday, which is about what I expected but now that I hoped.

For next week, I'm going to taper down a bit, and focus on lifting - so I'll lift three times, swim and spin twice, and three runs.

Overall, I am happy with this week, but it still wasn't perfect.
