I AM STILL IN MY PJ'S AND HAVE ACCOMPLISHED ALMOST MY ENTIRE LIST OF CRAP TO DO. after lunch i am moving on to a large ambitious project....CAUSE I CAN. My new boss is a fan of it, but the company does not officially support it. Since then there have been a few times where him and another co-worker have worked from home for a morning or what not, while taking care of a sick child or waiting on a repairman. That's the kind of stuff we SHOULD be able to do but are over-cautious because of dinosaur company policies and culture. Does your company have small arms like a T Rex? |

There are a number of people that work from home. My husband can from time to time depending on exactly what he has to do that day. Unfortunately I can't as my job requires me to be here to run the instruments. I can do data analysis from home if I ever have enough to make it worth while. |

BUTTTT...since i work in a manufacturing location i cannot work from home at all because not everyone can, therefore it would be unfair. which i get...kind of...but it's a little dinosaur-y as well. maybe NAMELESS HR person can weigh in as well. that said, working from home doesn't even rank on my list of things i actually care about in a job, but it is a hella nice perk! Oh....and the nameless, yet very attractive and chiseled chested HR personality did comment. However...that whole "its not fair to everyone" is a bit of BS. There are certain positions that can (and have the ability) to telecommute. If a someone can, then they should be allowed to. That's what i'm saying! Especially because the people I work with out of different offices ARE teleworking - well now its not fair to me. Take it away from them!!!! Edited by mehaner 2013-03-28 11:28 AM |
