Easier one for them with a base send-off of 1:30/100, but faster for me. About where I should be more often now, but was a little nervous about having the energy with the current bike load. Strong work Ben! How long have you been swimming with this group, and where was your swimming before your started with them? |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Originally posted by switch Hey Pod... question for you. When I met Salty we were talking about SBUX, and I asked why they didn't have recycling in their stores. She seemed surprised by this, and we concluded it might be a behind-the-times Midwestern thing. I frequent five SBUX in Iowa and Nebraska and non of them have consumer recycling on site. So, if you SBUX, does yours recycle? SBux connoisseur addict here. I've been to EVERY SBux in Nebraska (unless they built some after I left) and most of them in New Mexico and many in Colorado, including the awesome one at REI. The only one I recall seeing any kind of recycling may be the one at REI in downtown Denver. I asked DH about it and he said he didn't recall seeing any either. BTW, friends in low high places is awesome! Thanx SALTY!!!!!!!!! The coffee is AWRSOME!!!!!!!!! (SBux Swag.JPG) Attachments ---------------- SBux Swag.JPG (118KB - 15 downloads) |

Actually, I keep meaning to ask them why they don't have. Thanks for the reminder. I'll do it today. |

It makes me feel better that it's not just a backwards midwest thing, but it makes me feel terrible that more SBUX don't have that as an option. Salty, I know SBUX prioritizes sustainability. What do you think we could do as consumers to make a push for our stores to recycle too? |

Strong work Ben! How long have you been swimming with this group, and where was your swimming before your started with them? About 9-10 months now. I don't know for sure what my pacing was before, but likely in on 1:40 or a little over much of the time. Didn't have a pace clock. Both coaches are swam through HS at least. The one is still a rather competitive swimmer and the other is a triathlete. As it turns out, we've actually done some of the same events before. Last summer we both placed 2nd at the one sprint, but had no idea who the other was. There were 5-6 others in this group there too. |

There were 5-6 others in this group there too. 3 1/2 minutes faster in the one Oly I did both years and felt better than ever from any swim of that distance or more when standing up at the end. And last year that feeling was already showing improvement from a substantial increase in swim volume leading in to the race. I think it'll take off even more when I swim straighter, hold a draft better, and learn to trust the increased fitness to push it some more. Edited by brigby1 2013-08-23 11:57 AM |

I haven't run as well not so much because of the bike, but because the swim took more out of me than it first seems. My best run (by a good margin) was when the swim was cancelled and I ended up biking well above target. I always swam easy for them, but there was just no way to get around the distance that needed to be covered. It was going to drain me some no matter how I swam it. |

You can doooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! Good luck racers. Go hard Chad..lol SBUX - funny how you all talk about SBUX i guess it's pretty big over there. Here in Australia - we are coffee snobs our coffee shops are quite often independently owned operations. There are a few chains - my favourite chain is Campos coffee (nice hot boys work in my local one!) I get my coffee from the deli at work - she makes glorious coffee as well as food. SBUX is a last resort - if there is nowhere else I'd got there, I'd choose McDonalds McCafe over them for quality. It intrigues me - no offence to SBUX but their coffee is like a milkshake here - triple shot still can't taste it. I have a cousin who owns 5 cafes in Adelaide - he is a barista master and trains lots of people in Australia. Won awards etc - now he's a coffee snob! |
