Thanks, The plan for this Tri is to assess my OWS ability and cruise the rest. If things go well I might schedule another Tri or two before my November Olympic. |

Master 2436 Apex, north carolina | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL The race is on Rob vs Tony! It looks like you guys are racing very similar races - at least on distance. Best of luck to both of you. Tony, extra snaps going out to you for the first OWS! I know how that feels. Actually, I had a great time in the water and I'll bet you will too. Matt, a 20s/lap improvement with a wetsuit is consistent with what I have read people comment on their first wetsuit experiences. I've never worn one though. Steve, what do you think? On that note, anybody else in the group race in wetsuits? I need to order one soon to get some practice in before the big day. Just renting one this time. Found a great website that has a $40 for a month policy! Can't beat that! |

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL I was out at the pool with my rented wet suit last night and there is definitely an advantage to using one. Better floatation is the biggest thing you will notice. After my swim last night I peeled the top down and just lay in the water floating with no external assistance from arms or legs. The second is because of this bouyancy you will swim faster. The down sde is that if you don't get the wetsuit on properly (pulled up nice and high around the shoulders) it can affect your stroke and tired you out quite quicky. BY the way I had one of my fastest 800 meter wims last night. 19 minutes flat. I really felt good last night. There was a guy beside me who was doing about 1 length to my 2. I hope I feel that good on Sunday. For the Rob vs Tony I should get an age advantage. Like maybe finish my swim before Tony starts. |

Haha, you get the wetsuit advantage, the water will be 80+ so no wetsuit for me.

Congrats by the way. Everyone that signed up got put on teams that corresponded to teams racing in the TdF. You put in the amount of stages (rides) that you would complete in the 3 weeks of the tour and the distance/time you would ride during those stages. It was alot of fun, more fun before our team got kicked out of the TdF (Sanuier Duval) because we could trash talk, but still fun. I think 3 teams finished with 100% Btw, you seem to be as busy at work as I am |

Yes I am sitting here eating my second breakfast - in true Hobbit fashion. Is it me, or are you guys hungry ALL THE TIME? I feel like all I do is eat! I was actually pretty busy between 8 and 9, so I am pacing myself....as all true triathletes should By the way, I noticed our mentor group is in 3rd place for the largest number of posts. Lauren SUO2's group is first with 55 and Beth & Yanti's Manatees are second with 39. Guess that is what comes from great people who enjoy wasting time together!!! Well, I can say I've had a productive day now. Bye Bye Tony LOL, well that is enough work for me today. I did get my gym membership renewed, can't beat $108 for 6 months, has 25M+ pool (+ because I know it is longer than any other 25M pool I have swam in) with 6 lanes, 2 baskedball courts, volleyball court, indoor track, 4 or 5 rackeball courts, spin class room, usual weights free and machine. And it's all in my building! |

Expert 1231 B'ham | Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULL Man, you don't check in for an evening and then get to work on Pacific Time and there's an hour of catching up to do around here. I'm glad I'm not the only one with an empty to-do list (in my defense, we're opening a new hospital next weekend and this is just the calm before the storm) First, good luck to those racing this weekend - nothing like a little mentor group competition to keep things lively. Is it wrong to place bets? Second, Tracy, Nicely done on figuring out the quote tags. that's a little peeve of mine, so hopefully you can make that a habit (yes, it's all about me) Third, My wife and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary last night with a night out while grandma watched the little one. We had a great meal and just had a good time being able to spend some time with just the two of us. Lastly, This morning I ran the longest run of my training career, 6.4 miles at an 8:34 pace. I usually leave the map of my planned route up on the laptop when I leave so they know where to start looking if I don't make it back. I walked in the door and Bev looked at me and said "Did you do that whole thing?" and I just smiled and said "yep". Week one of half-marathon training down, 8 to go. You love the little ones but it's nice to get some personal one on one time to. If we keep posting at this pace we can be # 2 in the mentor groups shortly I'll be happy to do my part in achieving this lofty goal. Nice going on the run. Tracy larned her a new lesson today. She 's a quick study. I'm certin she could taught grade first or thos igorant inmates easily. |

I have tried 3 places so far and they are all out of stock. The winner of our league gets a championship belt with their team name engraved on it at the following years draft and the draft is 3 weeks away and I still don't have a belt... Oh, and I guess I should get around to training today also.
