Well mostly... dont mention the ITB!

One day, my ITB and I won't fight all the time.  At least that's what I hope.

X2 as of now we don't even talk to each other anymore

Aaaw at least I know others understand...

Mine seems to be slowly getting better... which is good because nothing will stop me riding my bike tomorrow!

Yay! Cat gets her bike tomorrow!

The Awesome Aussie is finally getting out of the water??  *faints*

Out of? It STILL hasnt stopped raining!

Me thinks he meant the pool!

heh

maybe it could be a new video game

wait, that doesn't sound quite right

Well, the only other thing I can think of involving air.... would be sky diving. And you probably shouldn't go sky diving with that ankle, right now. (Yes, it's 1:50 AM and I'm still awake.)

GO TO BED!

I went to sleep bed at 2:40 AM. And woke up at 5:50 AM.

I am getting used to being tired all day.... Bleh.

lastcall2003 - 2009-05-27 8:33 PM Hi Nibbs!

how's everyone doing?

Got the MRI results - turns out its a fracture

Oh no!  Are you in a boot?  How long do they think it will take to heal?

not a boot, just a cast that's enough to stabilize so i don't risk further fracture

4 - 6 weeks wearing it

he said to plan on 3 months before i could really try running again

That sucks!  I hope it heals quickly and you can get back to doing things.

With a cast, can you do any swimming?

Is your doctor a family practice, a specialist (like OB/GYN) or a sport's med/therapist/etc.?  A general family practitioner may not have all the answers for you.  This problem needs to get evaluated better, I think.  I can't see you having this issue and not having it completely figured out.  Good luck.

My doc is a family practice, but I had a series of tests last year.  I ended up seeing a general surgeon, GI specialist, and another specialist.

They didn't see a hernia or anything else wrong.  I got diagnosed with IBS, so I do have a lot of weird cramping in my stomach.

It was a long journey last year.  When I slow down and progress slowly, I'm fine.  If I try to push, it starts hurting and takes awhile to go away.

Mostly it's frustrating and no one can figure out what's wrong.  I've had every test.  At this point, I feel like they'd have to do exploratory surgery to figure it out.  And I don't want that.

Dietary change?  Some simple exercises to help?  I don't like the sound of this, Jen.

Well, all forms of "running" count. So if you can do elliptical, or water jogging, or even walking.... all of those could be included.

(If I defined "running" as only running, uh, my goal would be about 100 yards. LOL)

Are you SURE you want to be on my team??? 'Cause you know, I tend to offer taser taps to my teammates.

Then again, Cat seems to like them.... LOL

Dietary change (more fiber) and pills to help with the cramping.  I hadn't been taking the medication, but I started again last night.

If it persists after I give the two a chance to work, I'll go back in.

What do you think they'd find (or look for) with the surgery? (Versus imaging techniques, or tests, etc.)

'Cause, having had surgery.... It's not a most wonderful thing in the world. And it takes forever (plus a few days) to recover....

Adhesions (pieces of intestine or other organ stuck to abdominal wall).  Fairly common after surgeries, although they don't always hurt and I had my appendix taken out almost 9 years ago.

I hate having surgery.  I have to have surgery on a tooth next Tuesday and it is going to suck.

You might get some funny post anesthesia posts out of it.

Ah ok. That makes sense. But if they do surgery to cut the adhesions.... How do you know there won't be new adhesions, causing similar problems?
