Don't corner something meaner than you.

I like this one - reminds me of how my son was acting like he could knock me out last night - mind you he is 12 and was goofing around.  I just threw him to the ground and did a wrestling dive into his supplex - LOL

Anytime my kids are scared something is going to get them I always tell them that the scariest thing in our house is ME.

ooooh...  I think I might need to borrow this one from you!  Wink

OK Ghouligans. Time to fess up. I am going back to work. After an absolutely delightful escape from the corporate world and enjoying the life of a lazy bum lady of leisure, I have been sucked back in. I got a call from someone I worked with a few years ago with an interesting opportunity. It's somewhat high risk, but potentially high reward with an equity stake in the company. The only downside is the commute is rough. 60 miles each way, but the office hours are flexible and I can wfh occasionally. First day back is Nov 2.

Yeah, technically Nov 1 is my first day but I told them that was probably a bad idea so we agreed I'd show up on Tuesday.

ironannekidd - 2010-10-20 4:08 AM Yesterday's visit to the podiatrist

My daughter's appointment was at 3:30. We didn't even get back to the little room until a little after 4. It was almost 4:30 until the doctor saw her. We didn't get out of there until 5:00.

She has swelling at the growth plate on her heel, the arch of her foot is collapsing, and she has some tendinitis. I need to get her heel cups. We also need to keep her off of her feet for 2 weeks. Rest, ice, anti-inflammatories, massage, stretching, elevation, all of that good stuff is what we need to do. If the swelling isn't under control when we go back in 2 weeks the doctor will put a cast on her foot. Once the swelling is down then she needs to be fitted for custom orthodics.

She is done with soccer for the year. She seems to be taking it ok, but I'm not sure it has fully sunk in yet. I told her she gets to LIVE THE DREAM for the next 2 weeks. When she gets home from school she can jump up in my recliner, prop her foot up, and watch TV all evening. We will see how long this lasts.

She did it last night, but we didn't get home until after 6 and shortly after we got home the power went out for over an hour.

Like I said before, it's never a dull moment at my house.

Wow, that's a lot going on for a young one!  Hope things heal up during the two weeks!  Did they say anything as to cause?  like calcium deficiency, etc.?

Most likely overuse, but my daughter did say it started hurting when she was jumping rope in her cowboy boots, so it is possible she bruised the growth plate then and it hasn't been able to heel because she never stops moving. The collapsing arches she most likely got from me, both my kids have feet problems. The tendinitis is a result of the arches.

ceilidh - 2010-10-20 6:19 AM Morning Ghoulies. Liked the words of wisdom Ann. If there were more, I missed them.
Coffee and a short walk on the beach. A bike ride in a place with BIKE LANES along the beach and sound. Now a shower and work.

It was a great way to start the morning!

I'll stop by this evening and see what you were up to today.

Have fun

Sounds Great!!!
