OK, really, can everyone be working that hard?  Slow day in here today.

Bummin' ... realized it's John Wright's birthday. Miss that kid. He was a dbag extraordinaire.

Thanks, Tony, for the remembrance.

I'm tired of work too.  I just want a vacation...

Plus my working out/diet  comes in spurts.  1-2 weeks on, then 1-2 weeks off.  Can't get unstuck.

do you all think i could pull off an olympic distance race in one month even if i haven't swam in a month and will take a vacation next week during which i will do little (or no) training?

maybe i should just volunteer for this one...

Same thing here. Debating whether doing one or not. June 1 Oly that I already signed up for; shoulder pain hasn't allowed me to swim (after an off-season completely ignoring swimming); shoulder getting better but not there yet...

I just realized we are talking Tri in TAN...sorry!

Pull it off as in podium, or pull it off as in finishing the race?  I know Pitt will join in later with his own version of pull it off later.

Podium - all depends upon who is there in your 27 year old age group.   Finish - No problem.

I pretty much resigned to the fact I probably won't race at all this year.  Maybe never again.  Not feeling it.

Easy peasy.

The gym that I did all of my swimming at closed like 5 weeks before my first HIM, so I had pretty much zero swimming in those last several weeks and I had as good of a swim as I think I could have had I kept training.  You should be totally fine.  Just get in the water early for a warm up and to let the body remember what to do, and then just roll with it.

So while pretending to help Meh, you posted this message with the intend to:

1) Let everyone you are a HIM finisher

2) Let everyone know you have done it more than once (or plan to) (i.e. my first HIM)

3) Poo-pooing on our accomplishments of racing/finishing an OLY

4) Give us horrible swimming advice (who rolls while swimming?)

Thanks a lot!

Boom! Samy with the smack down.

Reminds me of when I was training for my Ironman....which is in 11 days. Some days I felt like I've done enough and others I'm not so sure. I've been on the bike pretty religiously which is my weakest portion....but haven't been in the running shoes as much. The swim is no issues, I'm a gifted swimmer.....

11 days...wow! Good luck!

You would think that with posts like this you would be eternally loved and adored by everyone. The goal to what men aspire to become, and women aspire to marry. And yet nobody likes you. Go figure that one out...

Samy - You cannot use my line for you against me....it's against the laws of nature.

Lisa - We are rolling down to The Woodlands on 5/16. Check in, rest, throw up, try not to get hurt, throw up, and lastly.....try not to get hurt while throwing up.

Yancy - Nervous....very freakin' nervous. Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" came on a local rock station on my way back from lunch and I, all kidding aside, got sweaty palms and felt a little light headed.
