The bus driver was talking to me about Sunday morning on the ride to work this morning. That feels so awkward... Oh yah...forgot about Mr. Bus Driver. =) That is freakin weird. You know he'll NEVER want to change routes... You could always go Ryna on him and say, "That's because I'm AWESOME!" Haha...might get him off your case. =) I love saying stuff like that b/c it just shocks people into shutting up sometimes. =) i know it could work, but... i don't want to be a snot, you know? i mean, this is church we're talking about... This is the church bus driver??? I'm confuseded! The driver of the bus i take in the morning recognizes me as the violin player from church. |

But if you're just being funny isn't it okay? But if it's not okay for YOU then it isn't okay for you. That is true...=-) Well, here's the thing... i know what my musical faults are better than almost anyone (those who know better are, say, professionals). People tell me i'm wonderful, and i don't know what to say. i WANT to say, "Well, did you hear how out of tune i was during the Gloria? And how i completely botched the rhythm in the preparation song? And how my bowing was so uneven?" And then that sounds like i'm begging for people to tell me that, no, i'm awesome. i know objectively that i'm not, but... i'll never convince anyone (save my teacher) of that. i've had conversations like this before... "I just wanted to tell you that i loved the violin." "Thanks!" "It sounded so good." "Aw, thank you!" "It really added a nice touch." "Thanks!" What is there to say? |

Heather Locklear is hot. I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience with a FPO. We had a female training instructor who was in training when I was in boot camp who'd tag along with us once in awhile. She was hot, especially when she'd get in my face and yell at me. I wanted nothing more than to lay one on her. But then she would've beat me down. Which would've been divine. OK ANYway ... I'm thinking beef curry rice bowl for lunch. |

Yeah, and that's what i do, too. And i mention the fact that i play with AWESOME musicians, and i have to play up to their level. |

That is true...=-) x2. I was once at my advisor's house for some sort of dinner, and they have a pretty nice baby grand piano that they inherited, but never play. They asked me if I would play... I was reluctant because I was SO out of practice, but I played--terribly, if you ask me or anyone else who knows what they're doing. But they were thrilled! I think a lot of people are just pleased to hear someone playing. It doesn't matter if it's perfect. (In this case I think they were also glad to see this poor, lonely piano getting some use, other than my advisor picking out "Mary had a little lamb" for his kids.) Anyway, I understand... the gracious thing to do is just say thank you, and maybe say something about your fellow musicians (I don't have many of those, being a pianist not at the concert level) or how much you enjoy playing. But it's hard to do that! |

I always have a hard time with that hymn. I don't know the text of the hymn at all (other than the first line), but after years of listening to Beethoven 9 I'm VERY familiar with the melody and "Freude, schoene Gotterfunken, Tochter aus Elysium..." |

Uhhhhh... I just learned how to play "Hey There Delilah" on the piano..... I don't know what Gutterfunky is. The melody of "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" is from Beethoven's 9th symphony. You might know it as "Ode to Joy," which is the (translated) title of the Schiller poem that provides the text for much of the 4th movement. /music nerd Edited by puellasolis 2007-09-18 12:34 PM |
