O.K. CCL,

This is where I make my formal apology:

I will be 110% on the swim, and will be short on the bike and run. I did absolute squat the week after the HIM, and then had the youth trip my wife and I chaperoned. There wasn't enough time to make up the workouts...

Sorry for bringing the team's numbers down...I'm USUALLY at 100% by a week before challenge end...

Next year I'll be a little more conservative at challenge goals if I know I've got a big race in the month...

I've got a swim and run planned today, but not enough to get there...

hmmmm, so does that mean I should change my avatar to a picture of you? JK - lol

That would be fun...just think of all the confused people there would be...

Hmmmm.... Maybe the August Challenge penalty will be that everyone on the losing team(s) must change their avatars to a picture of Sal?

Oh the horror!  I don't think BT could handle that...besides...those shorts make my butt look big...

I like my current avatar better...

Hey everyone - there is no shame in not hitting the goal especially if you challenged yourself more than ever before.

This is the first time I hit mine and I am thinking I went too low because I did not have to force myself into any workouts just because of the challenge - and in the end I think that is the basis behind the challenges.

So how do I put an avatar in showing I did not challenge myself enough - skinny wimpy beach guy before Atlas transforms him into a stud? Sound good!

Well, you don't know yet if you'll even need to change your avatar. After all, it's still June, and the challenge is still going on.

Fellow Cheesecake Lovers -

I am doing the walk of shame.  110% on swim and I'll make my KB goal, but am still short on the bike and run.  Next time I will be more conservative.

I agree with your view of the challenges.

IMO, they're meant to push yourself a little, and to motivate you to train.

(Of course, if only my shoulder and knee would cooperate, I'd have had a far better month of it.... Stupid shoulder and knee....)

Maxed out run this morning.

If wifeypoo agrees tonight I will sneak over for a last swim and lifting event to max those out as well. So send some good vibes - she is getting a little ansy over the kitchen remodel so I don't put a lot of hope into this facet.

Maybe I will go tomorrow and pretend it is Ground Hogs Day for June 30th and no one will ever know the difference

Have a great last day of the month everyone! This was a fun challenge this month and hopefully we can catapult our way to victory with a strong weekend and Monday performance.

At this point, what's one more day delay on the kitchen ?  You like McD's for dinner don't you?

I finally got the laundry room floor stripped and the walls primed yesterday.  Hope to finish painting tonight so we can start tiling the floor.

I'm over 100% on swim, bike, strength.  Hope my legs can do 1 more hour run tonight.  I'm ready for a rest day!!

This has been a great month and I enjoyed doing this challenge with all of you!  I can't believe how much more training I do when I sign up for a challenge -- thanks CCL!!!

See that is where I am smart - I left all the appliances hooked up and am working around them.  She is just getting ansy to get it all done and I am like what is the rush - our lives are normal, we are eating at home, all the appliances work, and I want to go workout.  BUT we all know that is not how it works.

Tonight - Hang the new cupboards and base cabinets and finish drywall work.  Hopefully that goes fast and I can sneak off to the pool!

I totally empathize -- we used plywood for counters for far longer than we liked.  Once the sink came out we got very motivated   Or in our current case, when we run out of clean clothes we'll get very  motivated to finish the laundry room!  Hopefully we finish before we have to go shopping for clothes, or even worse, go to the laundromat.  I put in several years at laundromats and don't want to go back!

It's very tough to pick goals, IMO, because on one hand you want to push yourself, but on the other is life that has other plans, usually.  You don't want to try to catch up too much at the end or you risk injury.  So don't sweat it if you set your goals too high -- there's always next month!!

BTW - Give TinkleBeth one last prod for a going away present please!

You get your compliments in Inspires (I was going to say private but that would have sounded wrong )

The cattle prod worked the last time right? Figured one more zap on the 30th might push you just a tiny bit more (jk)

Ahhh!  I should have checked my inpsires first

And yes, I could use a little zap of something today - I'm horribly unmotivated - LOL

Keep your fingers crossed that the rain holds off so I can get my last little run in outside and not on the dreadmill

I agree with a lot of what is being said about the challenge. I set goals that were higher than my actual workout results last month, so just getting close to 100% is a huge accomplishment! I don't want to physically push myself too far, and I feel like I may have done that if I tried to get 110% in all areas. I wish I could finish my run goal, but I couldn't physically run today even if I wanted to - I am still sore from my race on Saturday!

I'm very happy with how everything turned out for me this month, although I should have skipped the "other" category altogether...I end up doing less than useful workouts in big chunks at the end of the month rather than going to pilates and lifting weights weekly like I envisioned doing.

This has been a wonderful, supportive group and it's been great getting to know you all!

Also, the penalties aren't really horrendous. (Although some months, they may be a bit embarrassing! LOL)

I mean, it's not like I'm really coming after you with, um... a cattle prod... or anything.

(Well, except for TinkerBeth. 'Cause we all know how much she secretly loves getting zapped by the cattle prod.)
