Kinda cool is it not? it is very cool! I was looking at my totals last night and realized that I only have 10 more miles to run and I will match my running volume for the entire previous year - not to mention the fact that close to 50% of that was done on the elliptical during the October challenge - |

Master 1289 Franklin, TN | Subject: RE: Stuck in the Middle - May Challenge Long swim day this morning and lots of drill, form and sprint sets. Got a nice swimmy DVD (Stephen Taylor's Fundamentals of Swimming) as a door prize at the tri on Monday. Watched some of it last night and did some of the drills this morning. Knocked a sweet 8 seconds off of my 50 yd. sprints! Oh yeah, closed out swimming this morning at 106%. Will try to get a bike/run brick this evening and close out running. |

Veteran 245 Eden Prairie, MN | Subject: RE: Stuck in the Middle - May Challenge My numbers are still on the low side. I should be close to 100% on the run and the bike. I'll probably be closer to 90% for the swim. I've been fighting a cold and have an Olympic Tri on Sunday, so I'm trying not to push too hard. I wasn't really considering it an A race, but when you're only signed up for 3 races, maybe they should all be A races. |

Master 1289 Franklin, TN | Subject: RE: Stuck in the Middle - May Challenge Hey Scott! Good luck on your Oly on Sunday! I bricked the hour on the trainer this evening with an almost 45 minute run. Closed out running. Should be able to close out strength tomorrow morning. Forgot to mention this: the person that won the sprint I was in on Monday was a 14 year old kid. His 300 meter time was 2:33'ish, his T1 was about :54 seconds (bike racks were about 40 or 50 yards away!), his 8.5 mile bike including T2 was 23 and some change (with hills! mine was about 30) and his 2 mile run was 12'ish!!! His total time was 39:33, mine was 53 something. Sheesh!!! Edited by orange223 2008-05-29 8:09 PM |

Let's get out there and finish this thing up. It looks like we can win with this thing from start to finish. But, don't kill (or injure) yourself with monster workouts you really shouldn't be doing. |

I actually had a faster bike than the guy, but seriously, who runs a 5:15/mile pace in a tri? There is a 15 year old kid here who absolutely OBLITERATES everyone in the cycling events. Did a 40km TT earlier this year where he averaged just over 28mph. Yeah... so long brother. He's actually on the Hincapie Development Team, and his TT bike is ridiculously awesome. |

His total time was 39:33, mine was 53 something. Sheesh!!! wow! that is fast - darn kids In one of my races, I was checking behind me to make a pass and notice I'd be forcing someone to draft. As usual when I look back in aero, I swerve a little, so I pulled back in my original line. The person passed me and said "sorry" as she passed. I didn't think much of it as I've been passed by plenty of females in my life. Later in the bike, I caught up to a friend and he asked if I'd seen the "13 year old girl". Immediately, I thought back to the person who appologized for passing the old, pathetic man. I did manage to catch back up to her and did confirm the "13" marked on her calf, but didn't dare attempt to pass. The worse part of this is she started at least 2 swim waves behind me and it was only a 500 yard swim. Ever since then, I've aspired to be as fast as a 13 yr old girl |
