"Ran" 7mi tonight after work...longest run since the half-mary in April.  Was absolutely horrid.  Side stitches started before I got out of the neighborhood.  Thought about caving, but don't have time this weekend for a makeup so decided to forget about pace/time and just get the miles done.  Walked alot.  Only good thing about the entire experience is that it's done, I've logged the miles and have poured myself an adult beverage.

Heading up to VT this weekend for nephew's 8th grade graduation.  Don't remember those when I was a kid, but will be fun to see everyone.  Is it bad form to bring NPR podcasts on the nano to the 2 hour mass/ceremony at the church?

chartierm22 - 2009-06-12 1:07 PM Who all has animals and what do you have?  We have a goldendoodle.  He is big and hairy (although he has his summer cut right now) and he is only about 1 1/2yrs old.  He thinks he is a lap dog, we are working on this.

We have 2 labs, Abby is a yellow lab that we got when she was 6weeks old (about 90lbs) She is a great running partner who also thinks she is a lap dog! Ryker is a new addition to the family. we got him the Thurs. before Memorial day. We rescued him so he wouldn't go to the pound. We think he is between 1 1/2- 3yrs not sure. Didn't get any info on him when we got him. He is great with the kids and he and Abby get along great! Need to work on making him a good running partner(he needs to stop at every tree!)

ceilidh - 2009-06-12 1:08 PM I paid my pennance for sleeping in. Got 5 hot miles in this afternoon. Only 2 with personal trainer puppy. She is happy now. I couldn't stand the unhappy puppy face.

Love running with my dog!

lkc01234 - 2009-06-12 8:52 PM what's the birthday challenge?? Mine is coming up and right now I'm thinking about taking the day off...

NEVERMIND...read your next post.  Mine is the 22nd!

June or July?  I'm July 22nd and also turning 28.

That's right...we've got the same birthday!  July 22nd, but I'll be turning 45.

I'd rather see the birthday challenge go this way:

swim 4500 yds
bike 45 miles
run 4.5 miles

I have five dogs... 2 black labs (the female is my baby and running partner Smile), a golden, and 2 more rescued labs (one is a mix, probably whippet). they are quite the crew, very fun!

How did you teach her to run with you? Mine is hyperactive and can't see it happening soon. Everytime I try she goes crazy, overexcited and runs way ahead.... frightening the ppl around us.

Hi everyone...

Well it was race time tonight...74 minutes for the June Bugs.  I guess it pays to be a bit slow .

Have a great weekend everyone.  Anyone racing (sorry haven't had a chance to go back and check the postings)?  Good luck to those that are.

Take care.

K.

We took Abby to puppy school! It was the best thing we did. She runs with a 20ft lead but is trained to stay by my side when told to. If I'm running the trails up north then she goes without a leash. When we pass people I tell her to leave in and she does. She also looks to me at every intersection and will wait unless I give her an ok. Now I just need to take the time to train Ryker(chocolate lab).
