Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Why must people rain on my parade? Remember my kayak shopping fiasco a few weeks ago? Well the store manager who was going to call me back never called back. I was on their website the other day and found a "contact us" link. I sent them an email telling them what happened, and that I wasn't happy with how I was treated. I got an email this afternoon from the Director of Store Operations apologizing and asking me to call him, he wanted to make this right. I replied back thanking him for his response but told him there was no making this right I wasn't driving back down to Rockville. He replied back that I didn't have to go to them, they were delivering the kayak I wanted to me. I called him. We talked. Someone will be contacting me next week about the delivery. I was happy. I called my sister, because I wanted to tell someone my good news and she snapped at me "how many damn kayaks do you need, don't you have enough?" 1) can you ever have enough kayaks? They're kind of like bikes. 2) he offered to take back the kayak I don't like, but I think we're keeping it because my husband likes it and we had talked about getting another one anyway. I've had a pissy week. Some good news was welcome. Don't rain on my parade. |

We had talked about going kayaking this weekend, but I think Isaac is going to put a damper on that. My sister got her son an inflatable 2 person kayak for his birthday in July. They still haven't taken him out in it. That would have killed me. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Good morning Kendra. You're right about families. She's my sister, and I love her, but quit being so damn negative all the time. Of course she also didn't talk to me for over a month after my MCM attempt because I didn't call HER when I was in the ER. I didn't call anyone. The hospital called the number on the back of my bib which happened to belong to my friend who went to DC with me. My sister had spent weeks telling me she was staying out of DC that day. Grrr |

Elite 4201 washington state | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. This afternoon we are having 4 yards of small rock delivered. Then we will spend the weekend shoveling and wheelbarrowing the rock from the driveway end of the house to the far end. Ah well, it will be good to have that area rocked before the winter rains come. Makes for a much simpler and cleaner winter for the dogs especially. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Howdy Ghoulies. I got my long run in today, (yea) VERY VERY slow, but then I am under trained so I can't expect much. Tonight we are going to Over the Rainbow, Cross-dressing, Bingo with some friends. I didn't know this was on my bucket list, but it is going to be crossed off none the less. Tomorrow early we are heading out to camp for the weekend. Hopefully it won't rain too much and we can mountain bike ride! Have fabulous weekends Ghoulies. |

I can belay now, so I can take Keri in and let her climb the wall. If I want to climb I just need to grab one of the staff to belay for me. Going to get in a little more practice, then setup a trip to climb an actual rock. I NEED TO GET STRONGER AND BENDIER!!! HAVE A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The kids and I are going to go to the college on Monday and swim and play on the bouldering wall, and Keri and I might climb a bit. I should let Caleb do the belay class so he can belay me. Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: Hey Ghoulies ~ I thought I would pop on for a moment while dog sitting at my daughters house. I was going to go ride but decided I needed to run instead and someone needed to be here for the pups so I sent my daughter and my hubby out and as soon as they get back I will go do some trail running. It is an absolute gorgeous day here and look forward to doing some exploring. my news is good news I FINALLY got an email from the photo contest and I did get a spot in the Nike Half Marathon! thanks to all my ghoulies!!!! and a few other BTers who helped! that is one of the reasons I decided to run instead of bike... the other good news is that my daughter who has been battling with the health of a puppy she rescued in July just found a brother for him who is a fabulous fit! and he is soooo fricking cute! check out this story about him!!! http://www.dogcopilot.org/stories/2012/8/24/peteys-dream-day.html this dog is now living the life of a KING with my dd...he is now Otis living in one of the most gorgeous and desirable areas of Northern California to reside in...he is the THE MOST LUCKIEST DOG IN THE WORLD! instead the most famous man haha and to the ghoulies who have been in Ghoulie land (in alphabetical order) RAWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR AMY!!!!!!! sorry that your son is having issues in school. I used to work in RSP (i liked to call it really special people..but it is Resource Specialist Program) and we would pull kids who were struggling out of the class and work 1on1 with them....many had ADD and ADHD...but some were just plain bored and were gifted but just didnt like school. One of the studies we were doing was the scrambling of letters when trying to read...many kids when reading will have words that just start moving on the page...and it makes it REALLY difficult to comprehend. She was doing this new test with colored transparent paper....she would take these different colors and lay them over the page the child was reading and he would struggle and struggle to put words together and then when she would put a certain color down the child read like a pro!!?? colors varied for various students and some did not work at all...can not remember the name of this test...but worth a try for you!!?? the teacher I worked with was doing this research on her own...and after I moved from that area to where I live now...I lost communication. Just thought I would throw this info out in case it may help!??!? Ann hope that you and your daughters coach can patch things up...it makes for akward times come game time...as for your sister ~ so true what Kendra said....Sisters are great but sometimes they just need to know when to zip it! and also true that you can never have enough kayaks...there are a lot of ghoulies and significant others ~ btw, you want a kite board? my husband has had one at his office that someone found some three plus months ago and he has tried to find the owner with no success!!?! no kite...but a board!!! hoping the kite and the owner are not at the bottom of the SF bay!??!!! just sayin!!! Dee how about that Ann on the rock???? hope u did not get caught looking up her pant leg like I did! haha bet you were really proud of her! now we can have two ghoulie rock climber profile pics!!! and both of you can come climb near here or we can all go to Robins...and I will belay! no climbing for this ghoulie! kendra glad your test results came back with no surprises...and hope you feel better! have you been getting any of the Ike winds/rains? I have not watched the news to see where it is now and how it has effected everything. Robin I hope you enjoyed the sunshine I sent your way!!!??? and you got to bike all over the place for you and for me! congrats on your long slooooooooow run. I will be doing that today on the trails...hope im not mtn lion bait! haha !!! btw~~I bought some canning jars/lids and now I am going to see if I can try my hand at some canning!!!??! wish me luck...or better yet, can you come show me!? ~~~ hoping things have settled since your hectic friday when you were running about like a chicken with its head cut off have a great LOOOOOOOOOOOONG weekend girls ~ i mean ghouls! |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Good morning Ghoulies! After a mostly lazy Sunday morning and afternoon, we took the kiddos into the college last night to play. Both kids spent a lot of time on the bouldering wall. I was very proud of Caleb for trying it. He climbed up to the top a couple of times (it's only 12' high, but he likes to keep his feet on the ground). Then I got him to start working laterally. He had a couple of nice moves. Keri mostly went straight up and down. We went over to the climbing wall then. Had to borrow a harness for her, it was the kind that went up over her shoulders and didn't have a lot of padding. I already have one for her on the way. I had already contacted the store manager who is bringing my kayak on Friday, he is bringing along a kid size climbing harness I asked about. I think Caleb may eventually try the wall, too. He knows it's an option so if/when he's ready he just needs to let me know. After all the climbing we then went and jumped in the pool. It was after 9:00 until we got home last night. Caleb is up already, Keri is still sleeping. The kiddos want to go back into the college again today and play. That can probably be arranged. |

My sister sent me 3 cards and a piece of birthday cake in the mail. The cake was carrot cake. The last card, to be opened after the cake had two snowpeople on it. Husband "Honey, this cake tastes like boogers" Wife (missing her nose) "Well of course, it is carrot cake." Too funny. |
