Next time call me, because you would not have to explain number one.. it is a given. How cool that they are making it right AND that Donny likes his Kayak! A family that kayaks together stays together.... especially on moving water!

Thanks Robin. We had talked about going kayaking this weekend, but I think Isaac is going to put a damper on that.

My sister got her son an inflatable 2 person kayak for his birthday in July. They still haven't taken him out in it. That would have killed me.

You're right about families. She's my sister, and I love her, but quit being so damn negative all the time. Of course she also didn't talk to me for over a month after my MCM attempt because I didn't call HER when I was in the ER. I didn't call anyone. The hospital called the number on the back of my bib which happened to belong to my friend who went to DC with me. My sister had spent weeks telling me she was staying out of DC that day. Grrr

This afternoon we are having 4 yards of small rock delivered.  Then we will spend the weekend shoveling and wheelbarrowing the rock from the driveway end of the house to the far end. 

Ah well, it will be good to have that area rocked before the winter rains come.  Makes for a much simpler and cleaner winter for the dogs especially.

Think of it as a strength and conditioning workout.

Howdy Ghoulies. I got my long run in today, (yea) VERY VERY slow, but then I am under trained so I can't expect much. Tonight we are going to Over the Rainbow, Cross-dressing, Bingo with some friends. I didn't know this was on my bucket list, but it is going to be crossed off none the less.

Tomorrow early we are heading out to camp for the weekend. Hopefully it won't rain too much and we can mountain bike ride!

I scaled the climbing wall until I couldn't scale anymore. My forearms are on FIRE. It was SO FUN!!!

I can belay now, so I can take Keri in and let her climb the wall. If I want to climb I just need to grab one of the staff to belay for me.

Going to get in a little more practice, then setup a trip to climb an actual rock. I NEED TO GET STRONGER AND BENDIER!!!

Excellent! That is major arm work for sure. Remember, we have TONS of cliffs here to climb the next time you come down!

Believe me, I am feeling it ALL OVER today. It's that good kind of hurt.

The kids and I are going to go to the college on Monday and swim and play on the bouldering wall, and Keri and I might climb a bit. I should let Caleb do the belay class so he can belay me.

Good morning Ghoulies!

After a mostly lazy Sunday morning and afternoon, we took the kiddos into the college last night to play. Both kids spent a lot of time on the bouldering wall. I was very proud of Caleb for trying it. He climbed up to the top a couple of times (it's only 12' high, but he likes to keep his feet on the ground). Then I got him to start working laterally. He had a couple of nice moves.

Keri mostly went straight up and down. We went over to the climbing wall then. Had to borrow a harness for her, it was the kind that went up over her shoulders and didn't have a lot of padding. I already have one for her on the way. I had already contacted the store manager who is bringing my kayak on Friday, he is bringing along a kid size climbing harness I asked about.

I think Caleb may eventually try the wall, too. He knows it's an option so if/when he's ready he just needs to let me know.

After all the climbing we then went and jumped in the pool. It was after 9:00 until we got home last night. Caleb is up already, Keri is still sleeping. The kiddos want to go back into the college again today and play. That can probably be arranged.

I'm working from home today. We got pounded by storms last night and it is just ugly out there: water, debris all over the road. I headed to work, but came home and sent my boss an email saying I was staying put.

Camping was good, the Bingo was good but now I have strep throat. YUCK! I have to get better in 2 days since it is our annual take Mom to Ohio trip coming up.

I am going to the doctor for a prescription (hopefully) and going back to bed.

Ann - sounds like you and your family are so busy.  So glad that the kids enjoy being active.

My birthday was nice.  Went for a motorcycle ride.  Then lay around at home.  Lastly out to dinner with good friends.

My sister sent me 3 cards and a piece of birthday cake in the mail.  The cake was carrot cake.  The last card, to be opened after the cake had two snowpeople on it.  Husband "Honey, this cake tastes like boogers"  Wife (missing her nose) "Well of course, it is carrot cake."  Too funny.
