Morning TAN!

I have an appointment in a couple of hours to have my x-ray results looked at and my back analyzed to tell me just how bad it is and if there's anything that can be done to help.  Fingers crossed!

Fun new problem though... I can't lie on my left side without my left hip/leg going into those deep tingles you get when you've slept on your arm funny and when you wake up it feels all dead in the morning and then you start to get the feeling back and it's all pins and needles... yep, it's like that.  Fun!

Not to distract from the current problem but how did the bed bug problem get resolved ?

sciatica?  usually x-rays don't really show anything for the back, so sick of doctors wasting my time and money with them.  and a test that shows problems (soft tissue - MRIs I guess??) are way way expensive.  i just ignore back problems and hope they go away - is that terrible?

Monica, I know THIS^^^ but sounds like a S1 nerve.  The nerve I ripped out of the nerve junction.  Best relief, is lying lined up on a foam roller with it in the same direction as your spine and moving your arms slowly up and down forcing your spine to flatten on the roller.

Ha! I used to joke that it was my fate to crash my car into an underage African-American Jewish pregnant disabled female etc. etc.

One time I cracked that joke in class and one girl piped up and said, "That's me!"

It was indeed. She had a beautiful baby girl the semester later and she was STILL underage and in college! Still in touch with her. Pretty amazing lady. Bisexual, though, not gay. Her mother is an Armenian Jew (talk about a group kicked around in and out of every community ever, practically) and her father African-American.

I've got sciatica on the right side already, and this doesn't feel anything like the right side.  My general way of dealing with things is to do the same, take some NSAIDS and hope that I can eventually put on my socks and the problem will magically heal itself.  It could happen!

Both directions, just make sure your neck is on the roller too!  Arms should move slow and concentrate on getting each vertebrae compressed on the roller.  It helps with poster, compression and disc alignment.  Helps me more than anything else!

Yup..... Someone asked me one time who I would hate to have to terminate.....my response: An African-American female, who's Jewish, in a wheelchair, also pregnant, and is gay..... You want job protection......become that. Otherwise, you're bound to be terminated on the spot for any and all policy violations.

Are the guys union? Our union contracts have WAY too many stipulations and give 1 billions chances before anyone can get fired. And a lot of them have it down to a science. Something like you can get 3 warnings in a 90-day period before getting fired, then it re-sets. So they purposely get a warning every 30 days to push the envelope and can't be fired by law.

This is funny.  It doesn't just apply to the lower levels though.  We had a VP who just got a major court decision against him because he had sent letters to every agency in the state claiming all kinds of wrongdoing and accusing specific executives of misbehavior.  When the company received the letters, they hired a former FBI investigator to conduct a complete investigation of all people involved and gave a sitting judge some sort of oversight.  The result was that all the letters were unfounded and the company was able to sue.

Oh...Good morning TAN.  Let's kick some butt today!

No....no union shop (thank god). I joke that unions are illegal in Texas.

We have a good pay structure, benefits, perks, etc. There have been a few union attempts (back in the day) but none succeeded. They'd be almost stooopid to unionize.

But I've heard horror stories of union shops....

Fun!

sciatica?  usually x-rays don't really show anything for the back, so sick of doctors wasting my time and money with them.  and a test that shows problems (soft tissue - MRIs I guess??) are way way expensive.  i just ignore back problems and hope they go away - is that terrible?

I've got sciatica on the right side already, and this doesn't feel anything like the right side.  My general way of dealing with things is to do the same, take some NSAIDS and hope that I can eventually put on my socks and the problem will magically heal itself.  It could happen!

the good news (? ha) is that you can only have sciatica on one side since there is only one sciatic nerve.  i get it on the right too.  no drugs help with that, i just wait for it to go away when it flares up.  sorry to hear it, back pain is the worst.  we're far too young to be dealing with this old people crap.

I'm going to give that a whirl... it sounds hurty though?

up and down in which direction?  Parallel or perpendicular to the floor?

Both directions, just make sure your neck is on the roller too!  Arms should move slow and concentrate on getting each vertebrae compressed on the roller.  It helps with poster, compression and disc alignment.  Helps me more than anything else!

Thanks Cheri!!!

Not union here, but we will also have to fight the unemployment.  We have had people quit, and then file unemployment claims and we have to waste hours on paperwork and phone interviews with unemployment to prove that they quit.  We have had people be AWOL for five days straight come in to work expecting their job back.  Day 3 of AWOL is voluntary quit, and we then spend hours fighting the unemployment claim.

bradleyd3 - 2013-02-06 9:16 AM Morning All! Lawyers in the office today....had an employee think he was discriminated against, so he called the EEOC, the EEOC bought his story, and now we're about to bury him.......

yeesh that's always fun.  i remember when i had an internship way back when, somebody got fired so they decided to "anonymously" report a slew of imaginary offenses to OSHA.  the plant manager decided preparing our response to the complaint was a great job for me.......whoo boy

Ha...being in manufacturing, we get the same thing. Terminated employee sends an "anonymous" complaint with very specific comments.....

OK! Whose butt are we kicking?  I have a few candidates.
