Absolutely beautiful here in California today.  I just can't believe the forecast holds rain again for tomorrowYell

Plan was to do a brick today, but that didn't quite materialize.  Came off the bike a little cramped, so I decided to play it safe and forego the run.

Oh well, it was still a great day outdoors.  Lot of people out riding, running, walking, fishing....  Seems everyone just wants out after a few weeks of rain!

deehtz - 2010-03-11 3:15 PM Went out for a nice 4 mile run after work today.  An unexpected run since this morning was too windy for me, but I got off work about 45 minutes earlier than expected.  The wind had died down, so I convinced myself that I was not too tired.  Wink   And the run felt good!

Gotta love it when things fall into place

I hear ya, Tim...it's been soooo rainy here lately that everyone seemed to be outside today even though it kept sprinkling off and on all day. We are "supposed" to have a dry weekend but we shall see...

Interesting end to the day. Got my run in, almost five miles. Picked up dinner and my son. After eating I noticed his upper arms are pretty swollen. He over did it at the gym Tueday. They're hard as a rock so now we're sitting in the emergency room, ehich has been exciting. Some guy came in fraking out because his daughter was brought in. The nurses couldn't even look up anything because he was so threatening. Police had to take him down. Hope things turn out ok and we get some sleep tonight

This was from last Saturday.  This was my oldests son's first race.  The race included a 1 mile trail run and 1.5 mile singletrack loop.  He finished 2/14 overall with a time of 18:32.  As you can see, I'm very pround.  Hopefully, tiathlons are in the near future.

Double black and tans for me last night.  Murphy's and Red Hook.  God, I've been so hungry lately.  I've been on a food bender the last couple of days.

I'm super plugged up this morning.  Me and the neti pot got to know each other very well.  My ears finally unplugged for a brief moment during my shower this morning.

I'll be heading to the gym soon to teach Spinning and then I might go to the pool for a swimmm.  I need to keep on top of the swimming.  It is my weakest sport.  I get so bored and then my mind wanders and then I find myself not concentrating on my stroke which ends up injuring me.  (I have a bad shoulder.)  Anyone have any suggestions to help with the boredom while swimming?

I hope everyone has a great day!

Edited to point out that I spelled swim wrong and it made me laugh!   The "m" must have gotten stuck.

wgraves7582 - 2010-03-11 6:09 AM Alright in 2 years I am doing this race (lol) and that will score me so many points in 1 week that I won't have to workout the rest of the winter.

BTW - got my morning commute in Teamies.

If you finish that race, you are the MAN!  I'm partial to my fingers and toes, so I think I'll take a pass on that madness.

H2O audio interval.  Music helps me in the pool, especially when doing longer distance sets.  Masters class helps too.  It motivates me to swim with other people.  Finally, try to mix it up with some OWS if possible.  Just my two cents.

I wish I could go to masters but there is no childcare at the pool that has masters.  My husband goes to work early so he can't watch the baby.  We have a great lagoon for OWS but, again, I have to coordinate childcare.  For now, I have very limited times that I can go to the pool where there is childcare during lap times.

H2O audio interval????  Is this like Podrunner?  Or did you just put your own stuff on one of those waterproof jobbies?

http://www.h2oaudio.com/waterproof_headphone_system.php

The interval system allows you to put an IPOD shuffle into the water proof case.  The case attaches to your goggle straps.  System works well.  I have an older case that works with the older generation shuffles.
