onevette80 - 2010-04-28 2:30 PM Doing more this wk than i did last wk is a big motivator for me.  Plus, knowing you guys can see what Im doing, or not doing, fuels me big time.   How can I act like a sissy about how bad my swim was in a race if I know everyone can see that I only trained twice this month.  Honestly,  I train to fill out my BT training log.  Is that weird?  Great, now Ive noticed another obsession.  Seeing my graphs grow...........
Im still ashamed of the volume of my Workouts.  Esp when I look at Wgraves log!!  Good lord Man!!!  He makes me not want to find my keys so I have to ride home from work everyday.  Just so my log will look like his!

how do y'all even find the time to read all of our logs?? i'm hard pressed to keep up with the forum chatter and remember what day of the week it is, let alone work out myself & log it AND read the details of others... on the other hand, maybe that'd be useful? oblivion does have its merits, though....

MarlaS - 2010-04-28 6:47 PM WOO--HOO: UPS just delivered my wetsuit!!

OMG...I never imagined I could feel claustrophobic & like I'm suffocating simultaneously in the comfort of my own home. Trying on that wetsuit created a truly weird feeling, not to mention that I reminded myself of a beached giant seal with glasses. I'll have to try it on again with someone over the age of 11 to help me get it on, bc I can't imagine it's supposed to feel like my throat's getting squeezed shut...then again, it would explain the many stories of hyperventilation on the OWS - how the hell can you breathe if the stupid wetsuit's so tight at the neck that it closes off your airway from the outside?!

Deep breaths Marla. In with the good, out with the bad. Are you with me. The wetsuit is supposed to be snug, but still allow you to breathe. It will actually loosen up once it's a bit wet, they are sort of like sponges. Put 2-3 inches of water in your bathtub, then lay your wetsuit in it for half an hour or so. You can then hang your wetsuit somewhere that it can drip for awhile. Try it on again in a few days. Even though you may think it's dry, it still has moisture in it, it will be more flexible. See if it fits better then.

Marla, I would like to request you change your logs to at least let your friends view, then make sure I'm on your friends list. I can leave you inspires that way. With your logs locked that no one can see them you are missing out on the inspires I leave everyone.

Marla - the other thing is to make sure that you've pulled it all the way up in the back, as well as the front.  The best way is to bend over at the waist, pull it away from slightly from your chest and try to shimmy it up.  (or, better yet, watch one of the videos here).  I had the same experience my first time in my wetsuit but pulling up the back to match the front made all the difference in the world.

I am here! Have a swim class tonight at 8 (I know, late), which gives me enough time to get the yard mowed. Some friends are talking about running a new half marathon in Nashville in September --- it's targeted to women (although men are allowed and even encouraged to run it). These friends ran a half in St. Petersburg this fall that was organized by the same group and said it was very nice.  I'm on the fence.  here is the race link.

I bring a 52 oz mug to work everyday. The other morning someone asked me what was in there, they thought it was coffee. If I drank that much coffee I wouldn't sleep for a week. It's full of water.

I like the giveaways too. I guess I just don't know what to expect since this is a new race. I'll probably go ahead and sign up. Yeah, I think I will do that!!

If it were me, I'd do it. Your friends told you that they put on another race that goes pretty well. If you try it, and it's no good, you still got some sweet freebies.
