And atleast with the humidity you sweat and you can stay hydrated by sucking the sweat off your shoulders. Actually that's the other way around with increased humidity you do not get the evaporative cooling effect that you do in a dry heat. Then again you don't get the salt stains either. I've ridden in both, I'll take the dry heat any day! Agree. And don't forget having to run/bike in a drenched shirt. It's common knowledge that if you lose 1 lb of sweat in humidity, it will drench your shirt and add 2 lbs of weight to your clothes. I know it defies logic, but it is the way it is... Maybe the humidity particles in the air decide to join their counterparts on the shirt and throw a "slow down the runner/biker" party. And yet, we don't mind swimming in 100% humidity environment. Go figure. |
