Hi there!

Yes I am still in Charlotte---moved to the Wesley Chapel area cow country outside the city

Things have been going okay at home---kinda crazy family drama happening but training keeps me sane!

Did the swim let of an OLY last weekend and it was fun until I ran up a hill to the transition area and pulled my achillies tendon badly. I have been babying it this week and it is still sore hopefully it will get better soon.

My swimming has gotten very strong---still slack on the cycling and running. Have a sprint in about 2 weeks cannot wait hopefully my foot will feel better.

I hope you all are happy, healthy, and well!

Heather

Take care of the achillies. My friend tore hers a couple of months ago and had to have surgery and she is still in an air cast and on crutches. So it is nothing to play around with.

Hope your sprint goes well (and the achillies behaves).

Awwww...Heather I'm so sorry.    BUT you'll come back stronger than ever. Can you aquajog?

What is everyone's race sked?

I'm leaving for Coeur d'Alene on Friday.  We're going to Yellowstone and Glacier national parks, then over to CdA.  The IM is Sunday, 6/22.  I'll let you know my bib number when I get it!

Also, if you care to, leave a note for Stacie (luv2ride) here.  She is in the hospital with a clot in her brain.  She was supposed to do IMCdA in 12 days.  Stacie and I drove together to Playtri HIM in April and I am so bummed for her.

Z I love the pic hahaha

GO CATHY!!!!! YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!

BIB number please!!!!!!

Hope you girls are doing well. Rode 20 miles yesterday with a friend who is helping me to try to improve on all aspects of the bike----he was terrific in helping me understand hills better. Achillies is better---did not hurt yesterday, I am going to try to run this weekend.

Things are hard at home as I am in the middle of a separation I am moving from my house in about 2 weeks. Training helps to keep me straight though!

Talk to you girlies later. My next race is an OLY on August 2nd!

Heather

Too many things to say Z! Most of all the fact that I have finally gotten healthy and will not apologize for being who I have become, a strong, happy, independent woman!

That pretty much says it all after living with someone who tried to control me for 15 years.

Heather, it's very important to stay true to yourself. I hope all works out for the best for you. Hope the kids are all doing okay also. Keeping you in my prayers.

I am so sad to hear your news, but very interesting how triathlon makes us so much stronger!

I am watching the IMCdA and trying to figure out if I am going to be able to stay awake to watch Cathy finish! I wish I had a laptop and I could watch the live feed in bed. Any of you other ladies considering a full IM? I am thinking of doing one in 2010 and I think I want to do IMCdA.

Hope everyone is doing well, I know I haven't checked in for awhile but I am still training and just started a 16 week training program for the Longhorn HIM. My husband and I did it last year and my goal is to improve my time.

Cathy - YOU ARE AN IRONMAN! That is so awesome! Once you get home and are relaxing and wanting to recap the event for us, I can't wait to read your race report. I sat in front of the computer for countless hours (still looking for where I can log that time on my BT blog) unable to tear myself away from all these people finishing the event. I really wanted to be there in person as I am getting tired of watching these things on my computer, however, I know that when I go in person I am sure to sign up for one. I am thinking IMCdA 2010, anybody else? It looks like a hilly but scenic course and it seems you have a better chance at nice weather than some of the other locations.

Aww, you guys are so sweet!  yep, the IM is DONE.  While I was running I told myself I would never do another IM, but now I'd like to do another, maybe in 2010, maybe AZ?  We'll see.  Depends on my kids and husband.

I thought of each of you while I was out there!  It's a long day, so I kept my mind busy with BT thoughts   The swim was terrible, the bike was HILLY.  And that's coming from a Colorado person!  The run was nice and flat, but painful!  And of course I had my period for the freakin race, so I had to figure in tampon breaks.  LOL!

heather, I'm sorry to hear about your separation, but on the other hand, it sounds to me that you have morphed into a very strong woman, both mentally and physically and you deserve nothing but the BEST!  I wish you well with everything and hope it goes smoothly.
