Personally, I like to unbottle it, but, to each his own.

Mmmmmmm.........beer!

It's gotta get IN the bottle before you can UN bottle it. It'll be good in a few weeks- with pretzels.

ironannekidd - 2010-04-22 8:00 AM I hurt my hamstring. It has been bothering me for awhile now, but the past few days it has gotten worse. I couldn't run last night.

I got not quite a mile down the road and it was locked up so tight I could barely walk. My husband was on his way home, he stopped and picked me up. I rolled it on the foam roller last night, did some stretches, soaked in a hot bath for awhile. It is still really tight and sore this morning.

I thought about bringing my hot pad into work and using it, but I didn't. I do have the heater under my desk running though.

Right now my only plan is to finish in Pittsburgh, even if I have to walk it. After that I will reevaluate and take some time off if necessary. I don't care about Black Bear, my main goal for the season is the Marine Corps Marathon. I need to be healthy to start training for that in a few weeks.

Any thoughts of seeing anyone about it?

I don't know. I like my primary doctor, but I highly doubt she will have any good recommendations. She may refer me to a specialist but it could take forever to get in there.

I'm not a fan of going to the doctor's. I usually only do it for illnesses or broken bones, not minor injuries.

I don't know if I can wait until January for that.

I was thinking about getting a massage. Not sure if this would help or hurt though.

I am not a good stretcher, never have been. I was doing yoga, but I have been slacking lately. I need to start doing it again.

ransick - 2010-04-21 10:06 PM Hit my first and more than likely only IM distance for the month!  Big month for me.  If anyone told me a year ago I would do this much exercise I would have said they were crazy.  Now my friends are saying I'm crazy :-).

All this crazy exercise has had a positive benefit.  I tried on 7 pair of pants this morning before I found a pair that wasn't too big. Good news, but frustrating when it is time to leave and your clothes don't fit.  Wife went and bought me new pants tonight.  She rocks.

Speaking of her rocking, last night she mowed the lawn while I biked and ran.  That is the definition of a keeper.  I'm just sayin.

love the rewards this sport lends too! Also yes she is a keeper! Way to go to your wife!

Good point.
I, too am a lousy stretcher. The shin splints is changing that. The splints I have can turn into stress fractures really easily. Really bad stress fractures. If I get knocked out of running I fear I will regress back to my formerly sedentary self (AAAAGGGGHHHHHH). I have started grudgingly stretching.
Yoga is good. Maybe I should try that.

I was beating myself up before I got in my husbands truck. I couldn't decide if I should try to push through, or take it easy and live to run another day.

I am going to try and bike tonight and see how it feels. If I can swim and bike I will do as much of that as I can over the next couple of weeks!

Hello Ghoulies!  I have not disappeared and gone to the nether regions.  Simply crazy at work.  The Library is getting ready to change hours again this weekend.  Back to 7 days a week, with some weird days (Wed 1-8 and Fri 10-3) thrown in there.  So, getting the schedule set up, new staff being trained (1/3 of my staff is new to either the system or my branch) and throw in a Rotary conference, my life has been upsidedown!

My son-in-law has deployed to Saudi Arabia, so my daughter is home alone with her four kids (ages 6,5,2 & 1) in California. Three thousand miles away from me so I don't feel like I'm much help to her at all.  Aaarrrgh!
