Pro 4723 CyFair | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED So between the intial results posted and the final results I dropped a minute or so. Final results: 2:39:46. PR by almost 20 minutes. Really wanted to get in under 2:30:00, but I had what can be described as well........ a horrendous swim. Waves were big and I haven't ever dealt with that before. So a 33:15 swim. Not a horrible day other than 2 huge blisters on the bottom of my right foot. |

That's a really solid race (and you still have lots of big time improvements in you). |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED I had a good race, 2:44:5x, 6th in age group I think. Results not posted yet. Fun fun day. just finished watching the Roswell Criterium, saw the pro women (I wanted to be riding in the pack), and the pro men just finished. Crazy fast riding. Couple of bad crashes, one guy taken away on stretcher. Hit his head and he was very disoriented. Hope he's ok. Awesome to watch. |

Maybe, I'm not sure how many there were in my age group. I know there were at least 7 because I passed her at the end. Results are still not posted. I'm a little tired today. We got up at 3am yesterday to drive to the race which was 2 hours away. Happy Monday everyone! |

I will do race report later, but summary ... Kelly sent me out at ~10:30 pace (2:16 ish finish) and held that pace pretty close for about 7-8 miles (which was was hard). There were quite a few rollers (flat by most people's standards) at mile 6 that just did me in, so by 8 onward there was ALOT do running/walking going on. While I still had almost a 13 minute PR, I was very disappointed in not doing better (yes, beating up on myself). I still have a lot to learn ... Hamstring which has nagged me for a few weeks was nagging most of the race and calf cramps threatened at the end ... Major limiter I think is that all my longs runs have been done on very flat profiles, so I was not ready for a lung run with a lot of elevation changes, even if small changes Carrie - You did an amazing job! You have worked so hard on your running over the last 18 months, and it has paid off. Keep working hard and setting new goals for yourself! Congratulations! |

Congratulations. Sorry the swim was rough, but we can't control the conditions we race in; you know? Also, blisters suck I had that after my olympic last summer. It's hard to run like that. Anyway, keep up the hard work. |

Extreme Veteran 3020 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 Part 2 - CLOSED April is in the books. Here was my month:
One thing I learned this weekend is that I am not a sprinter. Never will be. I left my lungs out on mile 2 of a 5k run. Anyway, now I'm having pain when I take a deep breath. I don't have a fever anymore, but I am coughing up gross stuff, and I am having lung pain when I breathe. Throat hurts a little, too. I'm crossing my fingers that this isn't another lung infection (I started Advair for my asthma 2-3 weeks ago, and it wouldn't be unheard of to get some sort of infection). Best case scenario would be another round of bronchitis (pretty common for peeps who struggle with asthma). I will most likely be making a trip to the doctor's if things don't look up in the next couple days. |

yes i do both, they look cool but only account for a few seconds of time saved either direction.
youtube cyclocross mounts/dismounts, they do it correctly. 90% of triathletes don't. you get more time saved dismounting this way, as you are already out of your shoes when it is done properly, therefore a few seconds gained going into T2. Cross dismounts are the same, except you do not remove your shoes prior to dismounting, the technique is the same.
