For those of you that have known me for a while here you know that I am a total hypochondriac and constantly worry about being sick.  Could not be more perfect timing for the kids in my house to all have the flu and throwing up all night.  ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME!  I have not been sick since January and have been picture perfect healthy and then some f-ing flu bug invades my house the week before Ironman - WTF?

Last year I trained my butt off for my marathon to break 4:00:00 and the week before I got the worst flu I have ever had and lost 8 pounds from not being able to eat or drink for 4 days.  Still to this day I know that is why I just didn't have it at the end and didn't break 4:00:00.  It just wiped me out and that was only a marathon.

I am not only popping Airborne and Emercency left and right I think I might actual buy stock in the companies it if that will help alsoLaughing.

This is like deja vu.  I am so stressed out right now - can you tell?

Tim - stay strong dude, you will be an Ironman, just have some faith in your bike and your immune system!

KC - yes you are a mad man! At this rate you are all going to have a dozen IM's each under your belt before I even do a half! Good on you for having another crack.

I may not be around for a bit, so I want to take this time to wish everyone doing their IM's in the coming weeks GOOD LUCK! I have no doubt you will all do exceptionally well and even if you have to crawl across the line over broken glass with your tongues, I'm sure you'll all finish, just have some faith in yourselves and your training!

Have fun everyone!! Smile

Tim - your immue system should be really strong right now.  Stay positive and focused on the goal.  I hope all the kids are feeling better quickly.

Simone - I hope everything is ok.  Hang in there and keepus posted on your activities.

KC - you are a nut.  BUt, I could tell when I talked to you last week that this was coming soon.  Good for you!

The final triathlon for the season in my family is Monday.  My daughter is doing her 4th kids tri of the year.  First we have to make it through her football game this afternoon.

I just signed up for a mud/obstacle race in 2 weeks.  Will be trudging through the slop and whatever the organizers can think of to slow us down for 3 miles.  After producing 4 of these this season, I am looking forward to being on the other side of the fence.

Hey gang,

The hubby and I went away this weekend to a cabin by the river in AR for some RnR. This place is wonderful and this morning we did some kayaking in some very cold water. Tomorrow we are going to do a longer float. This is just what my mind and body needed.

KC, you are crazy! But we all knew it was coming.

Simone, don't be a stranger, check in every so often to let us know how things are going.

Tim, hang in there. That last few weeks we try to be healthy, and injury free and I think by stressing over it we tend to open ourselves even more to it. I remember stepping on a rock wrong and I swore I hurt myself when I really didn't.

There is an app for the iPhone i believe is called iron data for 99cents. This looks like a great way to track Tim, Sarah and Jenny all at once.

Good luck to the trio!

Simone, Tim has good advice: one day at a time. Check in as often as you can, we'll be here!

Tim, hand sanitizer will be your buddy! And dont stress over it. It is what it is, You WILL get there healthy and ready to race!

Kathy, glad you are getting some R&R. You deserve it.

KC, you are a flippin' nutter lol. Thats awesome. Im so happy for you. I may have to come cheer you on! You know how im a fan of long drives.

I switched my HIM next week to aquabike. Today i rode the bike course. Its beautiful. Also, last month, I finally made the commitment to being fully vegan. I'm sure most of you know I've had weight issues, and a wonderful side effect of being vegan is the weight is melting off at long last. I couldnt be happier. I might actually make it to my ideal race weight at this rate.

Hey Team.

I hope eveyone is having a great weekend.

KTC - sounds like a great way to R&R - I should think about that idea sometime Smile

Cheeky - nice to see you Deb. Make sure you keep us posted on the aqua bike. I would love to see you in Quebec, heck that is a just a tiny drive for you LOL. So you are doing the vegy thing - congrats with your success with it. I would never have enough discipline - make sure you share some cool recipes with us as you find them.

13KM run today - hot, humid and slow - longest since NYC but I have to get my A$$ in gear for the half marathon I am doing in 21 days Surprised

Be safe everyone.

Tim; Stay strong.  Neti pot and hand sanitizer buddy.

To whomever is missing workouts and trying to make them up.  Don't.  It is the road to overtraining and injury.  A missed workout  or two is not the end of the world.

I'm doing well.  Doing long endurance rides now on Sundays.  3 hours in the rain Sunday with an hour on the CT to finish off.  I couldn't make the 80% he wanted outside without fear of sliding out so I finished indoors and got the intensity he wanted at the end.  Racing bikes tonight again, 25 miles, then a brick run.  I did 21.6 mph last week on the course, so that is coming along fine.  The new bike is awesome.

Swims have dropped times to the 1:45ish mark.  Better than that with a wet suit last week at the last openwater practice of the year.

Headed to Madison on Friday night.  Volunteer meeting on Saturday morning.  Then a run and maybe open water swim if they are letting any old body use the lake.  Signing up for 2013 on Monday.  Then Branson on 9/23.  Should do OK but I have not seen the bike course.  Heard the descents reach 50.  All free speed. Course getting up the other side will be an issue, but hell, ought to be fine.  Run is going well too.  I am running bricks, even just short ones, off every bike now. Racing the bike tonight, brick run, then the bike goes to the LBS to be tuned and to get upgraded shifters to SRAM Red.  I'll have enough time to practice with them before taper. I decided to do it because after selling the mtb and the old tt bike I have like $800 cash in this new bike. Well under budget.

To anyone at Madison, phone is 309-275-7120.  Scott Richardson, Crown Plaza Friday through Monday.

I am actually doing great! No sickness (knock on wood) I had to travel up to Northern Wisconsin (Eau Claire) to play a wedding this weekend - Brought my bike and got a 2 hour brick workout in on Sunday morning and felt unbelievable.  Didn't even break a sweat haha.  I have been so busy during this taper that I haven't really had much time to think about the race - except as we drove through Madison on the way home and I was watching "The Distance" in the car.  I got this sick dropping stomach feeling as they were getting ready to get in the water.  I am ready for this though.

Making my last minute lists and figuring out logistics today and tomorrow.  Going to head up to Madison on Friday morning.

Sarah and Jenny - Where are you planning to line up for the swim?  I think I am going to go with Endurance Nations suggestion and go right in the middle about mid way back also.  I will actually probably go to the left of the ski ramp.  The swim is really the only thing I am stressing about. Looking forward to just getting in the water and getting the worrying over with.  The mass start is something I wanted to experience but as I was watching the Louisville and New York Full Circle videos I though how stress free those swim starts are!

CAN'T BELIEVE RACE WEEK IS HERE!!

Can't wait to watch you guys this weekend!  I am so excited for you.  Just remember to run your race.

I finally posted my race report.  I am an idiot on this website as I have no clue how to post a link so hopefully you can find it.

Had a wonderful relaxing weekend and I think I am ready to start training again.  Just wish the weather would cooperate as I was really hoping to go for a bike ride instead it is raining.  Will try to get it in tomorrow.  I am signed up for a HM at the beginning of November.  I figure running will help keep my stress level down with us moving.

First bike ride since the Ironman and boy did it feel good but also very strange as I was on my road bike.  Didn't realize how much higher I sit.  Tomorrow I will try running and see how that goes.  I have signed up for a HM in Savannah, GA the first weekend in Nov and I am trying to decide should I train for it or just go and have fun.  After today's ride it seems the body wants to train but I am not quite sure how my mental state is about training.

Hey Team.

KTC - nice to see that you are back on the bike. I have only done a couple of short rides so far. I am currently trying to get back in running shape for my half marathon on the 23rd.

TIM - so excited for you my friend. Like you said, the swim start in NYC was, I am sure, easier than a lot of other ones - and I am glad I had that one as my first. I have picked Quebec next year because I also want to experience a mass start - how is that for fricken CRAZY Cry

OK TEAM RFP - Tim, Sarah, Jenn - we are all with you this weekend and I will be on the computer as much as I can. I am sure everyone's bib numbers have already been posted here but can I have them again if you get the chance?

Thanks Team.

Hey Team,

hope everyone is doing well, I've had a better week this week and managed to get in some good consistent sessions. In two weeks time I'll have a better idea of where life is heading when I see the specialist, but I can tell you that I don't care if it takes me two years or 10 years, one day I will reach my dream of finishing an Ironman. I'm more determined than ever now and you guys just all inspire me and spur me on that much more. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the support, it really does mean a great deal to me.

Also Good Luck to Tim, Sarah and Jenny for the weekend, you guys are doing it! WOW! And you are all going to be awesome, of that I have no doubt!! I'm also interested in your bib numbers too so I can follow you all via the IronTrac app. I hope you all have a great race and really enjoy the experience.

Take care peeps! Smile

Kathy - sound like the perfect way to relax after your IM! Glad you had a good time.

KC - you are crazy signing up for your 2nd ironman but I understand needing to have a goal to shoot for. Glad you committed!

Tim - glad you did not get sick. Good luck this weekend!

Sarah/Jenny - Good luck to both of you this weekend too! Maybe I should get the 99 cent app just to track all of you guys! Can't wait to read race reports!

I had a great week of hiking and mt biking in Utah! I needed to do something different for a while. I crashed once on my mt bike but from what my husband says "scars are cool!" Plus I felt pretty bad- continuing to ride with blood dripping down my leg

Hey guys!  So we made it to Madison today, checked in hotel, checked in for race and made it the welcome dinner with zero issues.  We left Myles at my In-laws so I think that has relieved a lot of stress.  So cool to be up here and seeing and experiencing everything.

As far as tracking you guys can track all three of us on the MyAthleteLive website.  This will give live locations as compared to the Ironman App of only when we cross a timing mat:

TIM - http://track.myathletelive.com/VEmap.aspx?name=382460

SARAH - http://track.myathletelive.com/VEmap.aspx?name=051628

JENNY - http://track.myathletelive.com/VEmap.aspx?name=109549

Gonna got to bed and get a good nights sleep tonight!
