Is anyone racing this weekend?

Seriously?  Maybe racing to the icebox and back to the couch!!!!

Mmmm beer!

No racing for me.  Good luck to those who are!!

Hey, so a while back was someone offering a Wii?  Is the offer still out there?  Consider me interested.

sorry man but its on its way to reubens house.

Ok, cool.  No need to be sorry.  I was just looking at Christmas ideas and saw a gaming system and thought that I saw something here a while back.  That was very generous of you!

Linda and Tracy great new avatars.

Those blisters are way too much. I'm sure I would have stopped before I got to that stage.

I am cerally considering IMCA in 2011. I want to see how my training works out with this job before I commit to it. That and of course have to talk my wife into going out west to visit my family that year. It will just happen to be around the time of the IMCA.

I can't remember the rest of the stuff on here. Too mnay pages to catch up and remember while at work.

Later everyone. Have a great day.  ooooh ooooh I remember now. Doctors can help with that that 14 lb single ball thingy

Like when he shart his pants will 100 miles of bike left?? That's when I'm out.

If any of you IMCA 2011 folks need a sherpa, my rates are reasonable and I think Canada will let me in.

Havin'Fun - 2009-11-11 7:46 PM We are back from FL.   Drove all 14 hrs in pouring rain from Ida.  Glad we didn't get it in FL, but it sure made for a long trip home.  Hope to finish my race report and upload some pics tonight.

Warning to those planning on doing IM.  I have been very clear with myself and everyone else that my motto was "One and Done".  Well during the drive home when everyone else was sleeping I starting thinking about how I could knock chunks of time off my "next" IM    Glad that IMFL filled up before we got home

I hear there will be quite a MG crowd at IMCA 2011??!?!?!??!  We can train together and carpool!

an ironman together?  ha that sounds like fun.  maybe even just to sherpa.  who is going from the mg

So far it is Steve, Ryan and myself.  I am trying real hard to talk Rob into it and now I guess I have to work on Linda as well.  You interested?  Chet???  It is a lot closer than NC for you?

I am a 6 hour drive from Penticton!! When I signed up with my coach last week, I told her my long-term goal is IM 2011. Canada would sure make alot of sense now wouldn't it?

If you guys are serious about it(Tracy, Steve,Ryan  i know you are for sure) but I could house a few people on their way out here for volunteering in 2010. If you are flying in from the US, either Calgary or Vancouver are closest major hubs to get there. My understanding is that is sells out the day of, and you need to essentially volunteer the year prior to get in.

Hey I'm an 11!!! they not work for you?

Nope, they are 100% wrong for my running style...were causing me some knee problems at longer distances.  Got some brooks glycerins on order....  You want them, you can have them... PM me your address and I will get them on their way...

Very tempting to join the women against you men!    Too easy, you might have to mix the teams to keep it fair Can one talk smack even if they are not sure they are going?

How far/close is Dallas/FW to Moody Gardens?  just asking...

Anyone have any ideas about fixing my Garmin heart rate strap.  You know the cap for the battery, well, the last time I changed it, I used a nickel to twist it and some of the plastic got messed up and now it chafes!!!  ouch!  I have been wearing a salon pas patch there to protect my skin...but that seems kind of silly.  I don't know if one can just buy that one little part or if I need a whole new strap!

Can you file or sand it smooth?

John said he might have some ideas, but would need to see pictures of said chaffing to get a better handle on the problem.

DFW - Moody - 4.5 hrs by car...

You could sand the rough spot down with sandpaper or a nail file/emory board - its just plastic....  You could hold a lighter up to and melt it a little...  oh, sooo many options...

If anyone is looking for specific bike parts let me know, I am searching craigslists (all of them), e-bay, ST, and my local bike mailing lists also if you see either of these things let me know.

looking for another set of speedplay zero's so I can stop switching them between bikes, they always seem to be on the bike I am not riding....

Also looking for either a specialized or Hed 3 front clincher.

I'm looking for a trainer.  I've got rollers now, but I'm thinking that this year will be a new Fluid.  I may be getting a team discount, but I'll go where the best price is found.

I'll keep an eye out for stuff too.

kt65 - 2009-11-12 2:15 PM Very tempting to join the women against you men!

So now even Matt is blaming John for turning a simple question into a request for seeing some skin!    Believe me it is not pretty...

kim i knew this was going to be an issue so i stopped for the camera for you on sunday (and i was still faster than sam).  topless chicks are frowned on here so take a pic like this and email it to me.  i'll look at, for a while, and figure out whats wrong. don't worry i won't share.

WOW!!!!!

And on that note...good night.  I will NOT sleep well tonight.

Yep, I had nightmares last night about that picture...

Well, there must be something soothing about John because I slept like a baby.  Best night's sleep in a couple months.  THANKS, JOHN!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the advice re: the heart rate strap...I have filed/sanded it down but will probably still use a patch on my run today just to avoid any further "gouging" of my skin.

Question for Computrainer owners:  I found a used CT on Craigslist for $850.  For some reason, the person selling it has the hardware but no software.  My question is how expensive it is to download that 3D software.  I think the unit is a 8001 model? I emailed the seller last nite but did not get a reply yet.  Guess not everyone gets up at 5am.  What do you guys think?  Is it worth it to just save up and buy a new unit instead? (IOW, is the 8002 model that much improved) It sounds like it is coming from someone who owns a bike shop and used it for fittings and spinscan analysis.

Oh and btw, John, I slept like a baby....but I always do after scary movies.

I believe the software is 60 bucks.

850 is a decent price for it, I think some were on sale on Slowtwitch for about the same price but you would have to pay shipping there.

Overall the CT hasn't changed in 10 years, lol you can still probably use the Super Nintendo version just fine (yes I said Super Nintendo, they set it up to run off that before pc)

Check which accessories come with it.  At one point they switched to polar heart rate strap vs. what I have is the old school attach to your finger thing.  Also if you are going to connect it to a laptop you will need a usb-serial converter, because your laptop probably doesn't have a serial port.  The older version converters, which I have, won't work with Vista or any 64 bit OS, so I have to buy a new one which is 45 bucks or so.  They might not have a converter if they were connecting it to a regular desktop.

Other than those two items the only other thing that is a bit different over the years is the revision of the headset unit.  The newer ones allow you to set the drag while riding, older ones don't.  IMO not a big deal either way, the CT courses are hard enough without adding simulated wind resistance.

If you go to www.racermateinc.com you can pretty much buy every part for the CT.  I got a very sweet deal for mine, paid 300 bucks but had to buy new feet, cables and software.  Even after that still not much more than 400 bucks for the whole thing.
