"I tripped over my pet" is standard code for "I was so smashed I don't remember how it happened". Even the (former) QB for the Broncoes couldn't get away with that one.

i would agree... but she doesn't drink... now if it was ME, we would all know what happened.. but i only have a goldfish.. it would take a lot of work to trip over a goldfish.. but i'm sure i could manage it if I tried..

A Shark tripping over a goldfish would be a true Pixar moment.

There's something else she was on, then, as people don't just trip over cats badly enough to break a bone. Maybe she fell off the side of the bed? I once saw a woman try to switch positions, slip off the corner of the mattress, and whack herself on the corner of my dorm fridge.

I had the bottom of my bed slip out from under me one time.

I have an ikea bed and mattress which just has a set of wooden slats across the bottom.  One side of the slats shifted and came off the ledge they rest on and we went falling the 18" to the floor.

It happens. When we were in high school my wife and I broke her parents' couch. Splintered the frame. I was trying to figure out what to do about it when they pulled up in the driveway. I panicked and set the couch frame back together with a couple of pieces of paper giving it just enough friction that it would hold for a few minutes. Then we ran out onto the back deck and sat. 3 minutes later someone yells from inside "dammit [her brother's name], you broke the couch!"

Good thing it didn't happen at a worse time....coulda killed the moment.

Nyeh, if the moment is good enough, it'd just add fuel. Curtains are better off on the floor anyway.
