I would rather just hit state street, but hey, to each their own.jszat - 2009-09-03 10:42 AM LazyMarathoner - 2009-09-02 8:46 PM I just received a call that took my breath away. My podiatrist spoke to the radiologist who did my MRI and I have a significant rupture in the plantar fascia. He is about 99% sure I cannot race. I literally don't know what to do right now. In my worst nightmares I couldn't have imagined this happening to me. Is running the only issue? Why not aquabike it if all your arrangements have already been made? If its saves you coin to not bother with bike shipping and all, might not be worth it, but if I trained and paid for all this stuff thus far, I would at least go play a bit and then watch all the other suckers suffer on the run while drinking a margarita on State Street.I'm waiting for final word on whether the bike is doable or not. I'll be on the swim for sure. I want to bike and will ship it and do it if they let me. Tribike offers refunds but WTF, might as well. I'm just afraid that withdrawing will be the hardest thing I've ever had to do and I'll be tempted to give the mary a try. And as much as I'd love to think I could watch people suffering while enjoying a drink, I want to be out there suffering too It's going to be one of the hardest days I've had but I want to experience as much as possible. I put too much into it to just walk away. |

I am borrowing some race wheels but dont know if I want to go with the disc or use my old Hed Alps yet. Using Disc and Tri spoke in front....IMO, having riden the course 20-30 times the last few years, I can't buy any argument to not use a disc. |

I emailed the RD about "support" allowed for the feet and didn't want to give too much detail, but I'm curious if a boot is in the rules. That could change things. God I'm a sick woman, I should just have the damn margaritas. |

I am heading to the dinner with another guy that is racing, but no families... more than welcome to join us if you would like. We will both be at the Gatorade Swim Friday morning to meet up with folks (swimming first, then hangin' out). I am going to Madison solo wife and kids are to busy with softball and cheerleading and would not mind meeting up Friday for dinner. Leaving the Minneapolis Friday morning. Hope to to Madison my 11or12. First I have to get race wheels from race day rentals and athlete checkin. After that I can do whatever. |

Question - How many times will the forcast for Madison Wisconsin change over the next 10 days. If you don't like the weather in WI, then wait 5 min. (an ol' saying.). Just be ready for whatever conditions, long sleeves or a light rain jacket or arm warmers or a bandana for the sweat .... You won't regret it. I'm not that fast, and when I did '07, I just happened to include a light windbreaker/rain jacket in my run Special Needs - sure glad I did, too. I stayed warm when the sun set, the breeze picked up, and it started to look like rain coming from the NorthEast. I even got a couple of compliments saying that I was smart from a couple of the peeps I started passing later at dusk. Just providing some feedback.
