You should be. My longest this year is only a little over 33 miles. I would love to get a ride like that in!

Good job Melindy!

Good evening Ghoulies! I hope everyone had a fantastic Saturday.

The race went fantastic today!  I set a huge PR and met my goal of running a sub-5hr HIM.  Final time was 4:51:08, ten minutes faster than last year!

Celebrating with margaritas tonight   I'll be asleep within the hour

ceilidh - 2010-06-12 9:28 AM Afternoon Ghoulies. Just a fly by after a morning full of back straining yard work. It is hot hot hot hot and humid humid humid. I hope Bill is getting less of this southern sizzling weather that we have right now.

The music last night was great. Good friends, good food, lots of laughs. That will restore a soul. I am cleaning up now to go hear another friend play at the Blue Ridge BBQ festival. It is mostly a weekend full of music. As the DH and I are veggies, the BBQ part is not a highlight for us but rumour has it it is damn good. I'll bring some back for folks to have this evening on the porch and after hot tub time. Talk to you later

Go NEAL Go!
Ride, Bill Ride!

Have fun the rest of you ghoulies!

Afternoon, Robin....if it is any consolation it is super hot here too! My computer on my bike was registering 100-104 during my ride.....and if that was not bad enough we had straight-on head winds the entire 12 miles home....and YES, I do need some cheese with my whine. I think my average speed for the ride was negative 15

Great job yesterday Neal! Sub 5hr! Woohoo!

I unfortunately do not get to lounge around on the couch all day! I am jealous. Right now it hasn't decided what it will do...rain...sun...rain...sun?

I channeled my inner Ghoulie this morning and took a little bit of Bill, Melindy, and Neal with me and did a 40 mile ride. I thought about making the trip a few miles longer but I figured that those 3 were pretty tired already and I didn't want to strain them too much.

I'd like to do a little longer loop next weekend, so if you guys are up to it I'd appreciate taking you along again.

I did have a few hiccups along the way. About 16 miles in I had a bug go down my shirt, jealous guys?

I slowed down to get it out and unclipped left but tipped over to the right. Fortunately I landed in weeds and mud, I could have landed in much worse. Then around mile 30 something I popped the chain. Other than that I was pretty happy with how things went.

I've showered, got the compression socks and tights on now, an ice pack on my thigh where I landed, and I've got some chicken on the grill. I will be napping shortly.

Jules, I was going to call you, but I wanted to be out of the house before 9 and with that 3 hour time difference I didn't know if you'd be up that early. Do you have any plans for next Saturday? I'd love to have some company on a long ride.

the doors just opened to the public at 1pm.  We are open from 1-5 to the public, but we do an 8 hour day.  It allows us to do a bunch of reports, etc. to catch up, so I actually enjoy working on Sunday (as long as it is not every Sunday).  I'll be doing every third weekend, but would rather it be every 4th.

Good morning, Ghoulies!  I am back from vacation.  Had a great time in Tennessee visiting family and some sight seeing at historical sites, Smokey Mountains, Arkansas farmlands, etc.

No workouts during the trip.  We kept on the go plus I was dealing with sinus crud.  Still have some of the sinus issue, but hopefully it will clear up soon.

I will try and skim thru the thread later today.

Happy Sunday, everyone!
