I stayed up till 3.30am tracking you all on my phone and then tracked you crossing the finish line while I was at the gym, I had all the gym instructors cheering too!!! I'm so inspired, I cannot wait for my first race of the season now, even if it is only a sprint! Tongue out

Hope you all get a well earned rest and bask in the glory when you wake up!!

Congrats to all 3 of you!!  An amazing accomplishment after a long hard year of training.

I wish I could have followed more, but was at the Chicago Half all day and driving home until late last night.  So glad to see everyone finished seemingly healthy.

The photo of Tim is awesome.  I was not able to tell who took that.  Great job!!

Rest up and enjoy your new shirt, hat, and medal - not to mention your new title "Ironman"

Hey Team,

hope everyone is well. I had a great ride today, the sun is beginning to shine again down under and it's making for gorgeous outdoor training sessions!

I've got a question to run by you all. I'm thinking about buying an aero bottle, but I'm not sure what to get. My aero bars are pretty narrow as they sit on my road bike, there's only a gap of 2.5 inches, so I'm not sure if a regular Profile Design aero bottle would fit or if I should look at getting a system, like the Speedfil one that sits on your downtube and feeds a tube up and between the bars.

Any ideas?

Cheers, hope you all have a great week and hope the Ironmen are recovering well! Smile

Good morning everyone!  Official congratulations to Sarah and Jenny.  After I finished I went to the turn before the finish and was able to see Jenny come past.  I was waiting for Sarah and had my son with me.  It was a LONG DAY for a 7 year old and with being up at 5am he was just whining "CAN WE GO?" - well during one of my "talks" with him I looked up and saw Sarah had passed me.  I think she was also in a group of people.  I did see her run down the shoot and heard Mike Reilly say her name.

What an experience of which I never could have accomplished without your guys help.  The whole day Team RFP was in my head knowing that everyone was out there tracking me and cheering me on.  At about mile 23 I saw an older gentleman who was having back issue and was just struggling but damn he was still moving forward - I stopped and told him the name of our group and what "RFP - Relentless Forward Progress" was and how he was doing awesome and was gonna make it. He smiled and said thanks-  I felt very lucky to have some energy at the end and tried to share as much of it as I could coming in.  I must have told myself "RFP" about 100 times during the run.  My race report is up so you can see some of the issues I ran into. http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/races-edit.asp?raceid=203325

KC - Thanks for the awesome photo fro the finish line.  That was so cool when my sister showed me that 5 minutes after I finished.  Also thanks for being there for me last week and keeping me calm haha.  I really appreciate it.

Trying to figure out what the next step is.  I think I am just gonna take next year and do some small races and maybe a 70.3 Whatever it is I will be doing it with the confidence of being an Ironman!! How cool is that?

Good Morning Team and Good Morning Tim Ironman.

It has been my pleasure being a part of this group and what we have accomplished this year. I want to thank you for your guidance, leadership, knowledge and perseverance. You are a leader my friend and I am glad I have been a small part in some way of what you and all the other kick a$$ members of this group have accomplished. Thanks for allowing me in and thanks for sharing your life with us.

I like your plan for next year. As for me, you know where I am going and I am going to need a lot of help to get there. I have friends and family already asking me why I am doing it again and my answer is I don't know to be honest. I just know for some crazy reason I need too. Maybe I should spend some time on a couch talking to someone soon?Laughing I guess I am still trying to figure out if I am running from something or to something - who knows, I may never know. I just know I need it, just like I needed all of you to help me do it and I am grateful I found you.

Tim - you rock.

Half marathon for me on September 23 - goal unknown.

Hello Coach - geat to see you. Even though you did not share it here with everyone, I want to congratulate you on completing the swim portion of the relay at the Rev3 in Cedar Point this last weekend. No swimming for over a year and you just suit up and do that - you are amazing. Hope all is well.

Hi everyone!  I got back from Madison Monday late afternoon and then was on a plane to Cleveland for work on Tuesday so I'm just now getting around to posting.

Thanks so much for all the support this year and for tracking us throughout the day.  It was funny b/c I didn't realize it was Jenny until after I saw her picture (and what she was wearing).  We had been playing leap frog on the bike most of the day and I saw her several times on the run!  Smile(Unfortunately my phone died during the welcome dinner right after I got a text from Tim so I didn't get to meet up with them that night.

It was an amazing experience and I had an awesome day.  I had a smile on my face 98% of the day.  The 2% that I wasn't smiling was from about mile 18-23 on the run. Ha!

The headwinds on the 2nd half of the bike were a little rough and I had some minor GI issues but was able to keep them from becoming bigger.  I didn't have as great a bike split as I wanted (data shows I rode at about 65% instead of 70-72%) but given the GI issues and wind I was ok with that.

Detailed race report to follow.

Congrats to my fellow ironmen, Jenny & Tim!!!!  We did it!!!!

Just checking in - wanted to say hi.

Back in the pool this morning - just an easy 2km - took it real slow but enjoyed every stroke.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hey Team.

Well one and done - as a competitor in this, the one and only IMNYC, I completely understand the decision. I will be forever honoured to have had both the opportunity to compete in this once in a lifetime event and to have completed my first but not last Ironman. IM Mont-Tremblant here I come Laughing
