I know...

but it's an imaginary dog.  So make it whatever you want.

It's an english bulldog then

Rescued?  But if an inglish bulldog fell in a lake, it would sink like a stong.  I needs SOME swimming ability for the story to work.

thats not 100% true. My english bulldog swims.

I was at sam's club and saw a "bigger" person shopping.  Yeah, sometimes I get a little nosey and check out their cart/buggy/basket.  It was FULL of pre packaged meals, processed foods, cakes, chips, cookies, sugary drinks.

They didn't have a SINGLE fresh or natural item.  The lack of milk, or any greens for fruit was glaring because all the packaging for the processed foods is so loud/colorful.

All I could think was "and you wonder why you are big..."

It's a labrador retriever.  And it has been swimming in the lake for a long time, hoping that its owners return.  But, they left it at the Grand Canyon, and took off in a Rambler station wagon.

Wait, I stole part of that from "Joe Dirt".  The creative juices just aren't flowing today.

yeah if you start them out young I think they build up the muscles and get over the fear. I mean he will never be swimming laps or anything but he can hang out in the pool long enough to cool down and pee in it....heck he is halfway to being a triathlete in that case

Nope. Any dog can swim / be taught to swim. Like humans, though, some are more buoyant than others and take better to it than others.

YAY!

So I just found out that you DON'T get totally screwed in life and you don't have to fight all the time.  I just got a $500 "bonus"!!!!!

I got a medical bill in the mail from october 2010!!!!!!!  I was like WHAT?

So I called and said that I was not happy that I'm getting a bill that's 18-24 months old and I'm not just going to send that kind of money anytime a letter comes in the mail asking for it without talking about it first.

Well, they just said "yep, you are right, that was wrong and we will waive it because it wasn't sent to you in a timely manner - disregard"

SO YAY!  A little aggrivated they even sent it, maybe they thought it wouldn't hurt and I would pay it without thinking.  But just a simple phone call saved me $500...

Hi TAN!

I overheard a substantially overweight woman having a conversation on the phone today.  Her side of the conversation: "the doc told me to lose weight so I'm gonna take up smoking cuz I heard it's an appetite suppressant and cuz that whole exercise thing is just so HARD"

Um... wow.

I've actually heard a similar opinion from my brother.  He didn't like the weight he gained when he stopped smoking, so he started again.  I call it the cancer diet.

I think you've come up with the perfect marketing name!

I guess you need to come over and explain that to a couple of my friend's dogs because they must not know they can swim.  They have stout little dogs with short legs and I have seen them first hand sink like stones in my pool...

Heh. That would be the "be taught to swim" part of my statement above.

I did aquatherapy for dogs ... probably at least a hundred dogs went through the facility while I worked there (one of only two in LA area offering canine aqua PT) and never had a problem with one.

The owners are a different story ...
