Happy Hump Day! Who's going to lace up (or clip in) the shoes and represent this weekend?

Our bad a$$ Tahoe star mentioned in an earlier post that she "could have done more".  That made me chuckle, but it also made me think.....Where could I be doing more?  How about you, could you do more?  What would it be and why?

I'm going to answer the last two questions.  I'm most proud of my 50K racing this year.  Since the end of December, I've successfully completed 5 50k races and 6 all together.  It's been an excellent journey and I've made many friends and learned a lot about myself along the way.

That also ties in to the "where I could do more" question.  With the training for the long runs, I've backed off my biking, slept in a lot instead of getting to the pool, and just lost my consistency in my tri training.  I could do more.

I will be toeing the line. Augusta here I come for my first HIM. Bib # 2633. I will also be on my athlete live in case you want to track me live.

To answer the ?s I could of worked on swimming more but I feel comfortable in the water. I would like to improve on that if I stay in the sport. It is less than 10% so was more concerned with other disciplines.

Good luck everyone races

I'm back! Paul and I had the trip of a lifetime.  We spent a day touring Johannesburg to visit the apartheid museum and Mandella's home area before embarking on adventures in four different camps in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe.  Learned a lot about the African culture, saw some amazing animals in their environment and met really cool people from Australia, Canada andmore.  Ended it all in Victoria Falls which is breath-taking.   Also learned I can survive 107-112F days without A/C (although didn't like it much).  Still sifting through over 2,000 pictures and trying to figure out the best way to share them.

No racing for me anytime soon.  Tomorrow will mark the first day of working out in 2.5 weeks.

Good luck Mike.  Start that swim at the back of the pack and to the outside. Relax, relax, relax and you will soon find yourself passing lots of people.

I am doing an Oly on Sunday.   This is a new course for me, but it is supposed to be flat and fast.  The weather forecast is looking good for a change although it will be a little chilly at the start.

What could I be doing more of?  I think I have the right combination of intensity and volume going right now.  The intensity is new for me and I think if I can continue with this combination I am going to be faster on the bike and run come next year.

More details tomorrow, but short story:  2:34:01 today which is about 2 minutes faster than my previous best Oly.   If the run was really 10km, I also have a new PR there at 44:48.....very satisfied with the times considering the conditions.

Just got back from a week away camping in Yeppoon whilst my 12 year old took part in the Sabot dinghy sailing state championships, had a great week and got some good rides in. Hottest day was 38 celcius! (100 F). It's up in the tropics there and it's really humid. There'd been a crocodile sighting so warning signs were at all the beaches, didn't stop anyone swimming though, too hot!

Well done Linda, just read your RR, I think most people would have quit in those conditions!
Great HIM Mike, all the training paid off!
Well done Dan!
