Its like too much *pressure* to even race once a month. I'm probably going to skip the duathlon in June, maybe do the July one, do the SF half in August, and then I may not race again this year. The only thing(s) I'm signed up for are the Doggy Dash 5K and the SF Half Marathon - that's it. And that is GREAT Scott. Gotta play it by ear. Sometimes things come up. Priorities change. I cancelled my marathon this month, because I had the opportunity to go camping with my youngest. I was realizing my kids are growing up so fast. I don't want to miss ANY of it... Kids are only young once. I figure I can always run another marathon next year, or the year after that, or next decade... For me, Ironman Florida has been put on the back burner until 2015. I figured IM training would be like a part time job, and I'm not ready for that, so it's HIMs until my youngest graduates... ooooh maybe if you wait that long...I may be able to join you! and way to spend the time with your midget...mine grew up and although we still do a lot together...I can not believe that she is in her mid 20's...it was just yesterday that she was a toddler! so, good for you Sal! |

Well, for me...it's called being a husband and father...neither of those titles would work if I didn't work out in the morning before work. I rarely do workouts at night. Filled with too many family obligations... that is awesome...maybe I should try that! but my DH rides to work and I can usually get in a work out while he is heading home! but can I just say it is really hard to take anything you say seriously...your avatar just keeps staring at me...and all I can think of is Eddie Haskall from Leave it to Beaver! |

I didn't do my ride this morning, so I have to ride after work. But, I got invited to dinner with the girls and that sounds way better than going for a ride in the rain. I was good and told them I couldn't make it to dinner. that is not good! can you ride to dinner! kiddin! hey girl thanks for cheering myself and Keith on before the race...it seemed to help both of us...we both finished and both had good races! thanks Jen! |

Pro 4507 Simpsonville, SC | Subject: RE: Challenge Chat (aka Nibbs XVI) - come join us :) Hi, Nibbs! Yeah, family comes first. That's why I am thinking of bumping up my IM plans to next year. I won't lose all my fitness that I've been building, do the IM, scratch that off my to do list for life and then go back to racing sprints and olys until the kiddos are grown. I look at it as 20 weeks of sacrifice to achieve something I first thought impossible. Then I can go armed into my kids' teenage years with the knowledge that I survived an Ironman, certainly I can survive this Jen. That is some willpower. I could not turn down dinner to ride in the rain. In the sun, yes, rain, no! Got back from 27 glorious miles on the bike. The Zipps are awesome. They sound soooo sexy! Everything appears to be functioning well. All ready for Saturday! I do love to race |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: Challenge Chat (aka Nibbs XVI) - come join us :) Drive-by Nibbin'ing... No time to catch up now, I'm having a wholly unproductive day. I stayed home from work because I wanted to ride, but it's kinda rainy and icky, so I'll probably go to the gym (where I've already been once today to swim, because the cleaning lady was STILL at my house and I hate being here when they clean)... On the productive side, I did buy wine and chemicals for our hot tub, but otherwise not so productive. Now I need to put the wine away. mmmmm wine |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Challenge Chat (aka Nibbs XVI) - come join us :) Okay, finished my errands for today. Might pull the bike down and ride over to where we are setting up Relay For Life at the county fairgrounds. It's only 4 miles. Soooo doable, no excuse to not do it. Hey, pray that it does not rain in Georgia tomorrow evening and night. It would be nice to have a uneventful weather RFL. |

Wont be hard, being brand week they are wrapping up with a social club drinkies from 4pm so... I am planning ONE glass of wine (any more and I like to have a good time out before I drive) and then to head home.... In fact if I get home early enough I might indulge myself in either some gourmet cooking or a chick flick on DVD... |
