Irish Cream - (still time to make for Christmas)

1 cup light cream

1 (14 oz.) can swetened condensed milk

1 2/3 cup of Jameson's Irish Whiskey (no substitutions)

1 tbsp. chocolate syrup

1 tsp. instant coffee

1 tsp. almond extract

1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in a blender on high for 30 seconds.  Place in a toghly sealed container and refrigerate.  Shelf life is 2 months if kept cold.

I bought some fancy-looking bottles at AC Moore to put the Irish Cream in for gifts.  They only cost about $1.19 each.

Enjoy!

Nice!  Looks easy!  This one doesn't have to sit does it?  When you get a chance, can you PM me the Khalua (sp?) one too?

ETA:  Irish Cream TOPPGAE!!!!!

Kahlua (my personal favorite):

1 quart vodka (any kind)

4 cups water

5 cups sugar

1 2 oz. jar instant coffee

2 vanilla beans

2 tbsp. vanilla extract

Heat all ingredients except vodka and vanilla beans until dissolved.  As it cools, add one vanilla bean cut into 1/3's.  Sit for several hours.  Add vodka.  Place into mason jars (pint) and add 1/6th vanilla bean into each jar.  Place in dark closet for 30 days.

Makes 6 pints.

Enjoy!

Irish Cream is ready as soon as you make it.  The Kahlua needs more planning (30 days).  My kahlua will be ready next weekend!

I made 24 bottles of the Kahlua and plan to make 2 batches of the Irish Cream...those bottles are smaller, so I have no idea how many I will get.  Lots of gifts....good thing because I have several staff at work that I have to give something.....perfect.

How many people got to see the Kona coverage yesterday.  I thought the show was pretty good.  I would have like to have seen a few more age grouper stories.  They fascinate me

I loved it as usual, but agree the AGer stories are the best and this year's didn't measure up to last year's. Last year was just so unbelievable. But I watched it twice already so clearly I enjoyed it!

Have you read the Kona coverage in this month's Triathlete? It's really good and the piece about her is great. She is a machine. It's hard to believe she just got into this sport and is so incredible at it. One of the other athletes commented that she was born to do this.

I did a little race yesterday to finish off my marathon qualifiers and got to meet up and run with Wally (runnerx). I had, um, drank a bit the night before so it wasn't my finest, but it was fun and in the end, that's all that really matters, right? Here is the RR for anyone interested.

The kids and I watched it together.  They enjoyed it almost as much as I did.  Alex kept asking why did everyone look sick?  She couldn't understand why it would be so painful!

Not yet.  The issue's been sitting on my desk staring at me for awhile.  Just haven't found time for it.  I'm looking forward to the piece

So my internet was down in my apartment for nearly 7 hours today.  Talk about taking the crack away from the addict.

I did manage to get in 2 workouts, read a little, and clean my room while it was down.

To make matters worse I always have an overwhelming compulsion to log my workouts as soon as I can, sometimes still dripping with sweat.  It's almost as if I don't log them immediately they didn't happen.

So imagine my frustration when I got home from the pool and couldn't log anything.  It ate at me all day long.  In fact I was in the middle of a trainer ride when my brother told me it was back up and running.  I almost hopped off then to log the first workout, but I toughed it out and finished the ride.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know know *exactly* how you feel.

I, too, am a BT/Internet addict.

Even *thinking* about it makes me break out in a cold sweat and feel nauseous.

Glad you're back online!

December Pick-A-Challenge UPDATE!

I've looked at the spreadsheets, and removed people who had "0" percentages. Usually, I try to hunt these people down and taser them, ask if they're still participating.... But, unfortunately, my life has just been too busy. So rather than taser, email or PM them, I just went ahead and removed their totals.... If they show up, they can still enter their progress towards their goals, and we'll just add their totals back in again.

So here's what you've been waiting for, THE CURRENT TEAM STANDINGS

1st place: Random Taser me Elmo Cat Stalkers - 37.41%
2nd place: Holiday Knockers - 32.73%
3rd place: Hot Toddies - 31.92%

But December isn't over yet! It's only the 14th, and you still have more than two weeks to go! So keep it up!

Well I'm trying to decide upon my second HIM of 2009 tonight.  In fact I'm constructing my race schedule for next year.  My first is mid august for sure cuz the run on that course killed me last year and I need redemption.  Now I'm looking at another in mid-june.  That might work since I'll go on vacation the week after and will be doing an oly 2 weeks later.

Kinda scared about the mid june date since that doesn't leave me with a lot of great training days leading up to it
