I'm reading over my race breifing and got an amazing visual.

It states:

The tunnel is only 0.4 miles from the start and if you all try to run through it at exactly the same time
you’ll get stuck, so to spread you all out a bit we have a narrow starting line

Awesome! You better be right in the front and kick it through there fast! You're bringing a head lamp?

Yeah, I'll be wearing a headlamp for the tunnel and carrying a drop bag which you leave at a station just outside the tunnel.

Does this seem odd to anyone else?  This is the last two weeks of my program (BT beginner half).  Next week, I am running only once.  (Well, I guess according to the program, the week is M-Sun, so I am running twice, but still).  Would you throw another run or two in there, even shorties?  For the record, I will likely be following the biking for next week, but still swimming 3 times, M-W-F.

Yeah. Too much exercise.

I need Manatee wisdom! I posted this in CoJ and then realized you guys are definitely smarter. Okay, that's not saying much, considering CoJ, but you know what I mean, hopefully.

I need to bring a housewarming gift to a party tomorrow. I'm terrible at this kind of stuff (although individuals love the gifts I give for personal things like birthdays, I'm really foggy on specific things like ... um ... housewarming gifts). Good triathlete friend of mine, guy piglet, married with a cute kid, is having a new house party tomorrow ...

Bottle of wine?

He's also an avid diver, but what difference does that make?

Maybe I could bring something for his little girl? I mean, nobody's going to think of bringing her a present ...

AAAAAH help, please, thank you.

It really is up to you. I think it's a cute idea to bring the daugther a little something as the whole thing might be a little confusing for her and, lets be honest, kids love gifts.

A bottle of wine is always nice. That kind of depends on how you feel about giving alcohol, too.

Someone brought us a little kit with basic house stuff (light bulbs, glue, scissors, picture hanging kit etc.) and it has come in incredibly handy (I am a very utilitarian type.) I'm not sure what is available for you.

I agree that a creative gift basket is a good gift. I know someone who got a basket of tools, that was well received. Besides wine, a gift of food is always welcomed. Assuming they are still getting moved in, you could bring a casserole or some other dinner that can go in the microwave and onto the paper plates that you brought with you.

Kate, hope your college issues sort themselves. It must be so frustrating for you.

Great shaved animal pics, they would have made a great pair of slippers.

Good luck to all of our Manatee racers

TJ, i started out as a coal miner, worked in the family business (wholesaling goods into independent shops), joined the Royal Navy as an officer, navigating aircraft, moved onto being a police officer (uniformed response and drugs team), re-trained to be a landscape gardener and ran my own small business for 8 years, got a few extra qualifications and taught in a small school for 'difficult' children and then re-joined the family business as my dad is moving to semi-retirement, bless him. I now spend part of my day driving a van, delivering around our 600 strong customer base, part of the time in the office doing the accounts/cash work and part of the time looking at ways we can develop the business.

Hot bodies lube party!!!

I really miss the swims at Tower 26 (which by the way is a famous swimmer/triathlete/coach's moniker and there's awesome info if you google "Tower 26") in Santa Monica ... think 40 piglets doing full-body changes in the parking lot, lots of lube flying around.

So, has anyone tried the 'insanity workout'or that px90 thingy? Thinking of changing our spare room into a bit of a training area and one of these programmes could be great to give me the chance to work out whilst i look after my little one.

Oh man, I hear coal miner and I think Zoolander. Every time.

We wore a very fetching orange, much like your inmates (at least the ones i see on telly).

And coincidentally, much like what Salty's wearing in her avatar?

That has to have some significance.
