Mike 45 - 2007-05-02 12:44 PM Running in the heat just requires conditioning and preparation. I have been on runs where I had a two liter camelbak and a couple extra half liter bottles with me as well. I have drained that camelbak and gone through numerous GUs on those long hot runs. You aren't likely to break any speed records but you will clean out your pores. Hence the jump in temperature killed me. Right now the high on Saturday for my HIM is 76! I am praying that it stays there....that is perfect for me
Yup, it's the spike that was a problem. Last year's half was on Sunday. i went for a three mile easy run on Friday when it was suddenly in the 90s and humid (after weeks of mid-70s... spring in Wisconsin ), and i thought i was going to melt.
That Sunday morning, it was 75 with 80% humidity at 6am. It went downhill from there.
Good luck on Saturday! |
