Since everyone is discussing race checklists, and I have yet to contest a tri. What about socks? I am thinking skipping them.

I have always used socks... I've tried training without them... My feet get mad at me.

A good prep that speeds up your time in transition. Put them on before hand, roll them down to your toes. When you are coming into T1 wet, it makes it super easy just to roll them back up and go. If you practice you can get good at it.

I forgot undies! How could you let me forget that?!

Yeah I seemed to have forgotten about all other clothing articles like post-race, that evening, and the next day coming home.

Ah, who needs them!

In my experience, the guys don't take extra clothes-they like to stay stinky I guess.  Wink

Have you tried running without socks?  I would hate to find out in a race that the stitching on the sides of my shoes was attempting to wear a hole through my foot.

Lunch=Leftover Breakfast

Buckwheat Pancakes with Blackberries, Raspberries, Coconut, and syrup.  Nummy

Nice. I'm trying to figure out what to make for dinner.

Chicken breast pounded flat and covered with bread crumbs. Heat some fresh basil and oregeno in a skillet and add a little olive oil. Pn fry the chicken in the spice and oil until done.

Get some fresh baby brussel spouts and cut in half. Dizzle with more evoo and saute in the pan the chicken was in with some panchetta.

Good point. I will train both ways and see.

When cooked properly, I like Brussel Sprouts-but most people ruin them.

I wear socks for the run - but I don;t wear them for the bike.  My feet get to hot and when I dismount my socks get dirty and things tend to stick to them.  I do the rolling in T2.

My buddies and I are grilling steaks and drinking beer. Guys' night before I leave for Vegas.

That is always a good time... Steaks are on the plan for Saturday.

A nice rare steak au poivre sounds awesome right now.

Never tried broccoli like this, good thought. The thing about the baby brussel sprouts is that they are sweeter and less bitter. The panchetta adds just the right amount of salt as well. I never really LIKED brussel sprouts until I had them cooked this way.

Yeah... I hear you about getting stuff on your socks... But I always just wipe off the bottom of my feet before I slide them into the running shoes. Just like getting the sand and stuff off of them coming into T1 from the swim.

I stopped wearing my socks when I biked, but then I put them back on after a few months and noticed a huge difference.  I think it's because I have crappy shoes.  I didn't really know anything about shoes when I bought my bike.

I'm thinking about getting some buckets next year and growing my tomatoes in them instead of the dirt... I had some wilting issues this year and didn't get as many as I would've liked. I heart tomatoes!

I love to grow them-I just give them away.  When I was a kid I grew these monster cherry tomato plants about 5' by 5'.  considering that I was about 4'4" they were gigantic.
