December Pick-A-Challenge UPDATE!

I've looked at the spreadsheets, and removed people who had "0" percentages. Usually, I try to hunt these people down and taser them, ask if they're still participating.... But, unfortunately, my life has just been too busy. So rather than taser, email or PM them, I just went ahead and removed their totals.... If they show up, they can still enter their progress towards their goals, and we'll just add their totals back in again. So here's what you've been waiting for, THE CURRENT TEAM STANDINGS 1st place: Random Taser me Elmo Cat Stalkers - 37.41% 2nd place: Holiday Knockers - 32.73% 3rd place: Hot Toddies - 31.92% But December isn't over yet! It's only the 14th, and you still have more than two weeks to go! So keep it up! - Dee

3rd, seriously.  I don't like 3rd.  I will lift more I promise

x2!  Unacceptable Toddies!  Let's kick it into high gear!  I'll swim up a storm this week.  I promise!

Although I did play a drinking game at work today (minus the drinks unfortunately). Instead people were getting zapped by a small electrical device used to detect the presence of a vacuum inside glass vials. Yeah we were that bored.

For some reason I was thinking of a few BTers that might appreciate such a device or even own one themselves

What kind of work do you do???

I'm a chemist. usually I work in a lab but that day I was inspecting a bunch of products we sell so we could send them off to one of our big Japanese customers.  We get bored and have to pass the time somehow

Yes, the main way is the lottery, but there are guaranteed entries by:
1) meeting a qualifying standard. (these are tougher than Boston)
2) being a NYRR member and running 9 NYRR races plus 1 volunteering stint. This is why the regular races are so crowded these days. 5000+ people for a 4 miler??? I just did my 9th and final qualifying race, so I'm automatically accepted into 2009 marathon.
3) Being a foreignor and signing up through one of the official marathon tours.

I feel responsible for our low placing.  I've had a really slow start to this challenge.  Good news is, I should be getting all caught up this week.  If I continue to slack feel free to give me a motivating kick in the pants!

I'm slacking, too. Sounds like a theme, no wonder we're in third. BUT, it is just what we need - some tasering motivation!

Morning Toddies,

Seems to be a lull in the post-padding. What happened?

I made it to an ART doc for some treatment on my knee yesterday. it's exactly as he said it would be. Felt nice and loose yesterday after the treatment, and today it feels all bruised. So hopefully this puts me back on track for my running. I felt fine after my 4mile race on Saturday, but after a Sunday night party standing around alot, it started to bother me again.

enjoy the day!!

Me too.  Slackers we are!    I did get in the pool yesterday and will hopefully tomorrow.  B gets home today so I will have a bit more freedom from the kiddlets.

Hey guys, got in another session today. And the NYC Marathon is definitely worth the effort to get into. It's a hard race, but nothing is comparable.

My exact thoughts. I consider NYC and any other marathon as 2 different races. Just imagine running in front of 2 million spectators.
