mchally - 2010-03-13 5:20 PM They had bicycle acrobats/artists from Germany at the expo.  The gal was multiple time world championship winner and the had a very good guys pair too.  I will see if I can find some Utube videos of them for you.  They were phenominally strong...especially the gal.  She can do a plank position on the handle bars with just her arms...legs straight out behind her...all while circling the bike!

Here is a video link for Corinna Hein.

mchally - 2010-03-12 10:33 PM Tomorrow I am going to test ride my dream bike!

I am going to the Seattle Bike Expo and Renovo will have bikes available for test rides.  Yippee!!!

Have fun.  Better leave your wallet at home to be safe!  Take some pcis if you find anything cool.

It was fun.  I came home with quite a bit of SWAG.  I didn't have a camera, but my friend took a couple pics of me riding a Renovo on his iphone.  I did have my purse, but I have zero money and my friend keeps my credit card for me.  I am determined to remain debt free!

How un-American! Surprised  Kuddos to you!

deehtz - 2010-03-13 5:19 PM I tweaked the set up on my mtn bike to mimic the road bike more.  Then did another short ride on the mtn bike to test it out!  Actually felt more comfortable!

Creeping up on my goals!  GO TWISTERS!!!   Cool

And so it begins....  Welcome to the neurotic world of cycling.  Next you will be fretting over grams!  It's addictive!

Oh, Yes I did!   They didn't have any there small enough to really fit me, but because of the downward curve of the down tube I was able to test ride a 56cm.  It was a reach to shift/brake, but the ride was lovely.  It was lovely to look at too...and so smooth to the touch...and light.

I/it got lots of attention when I was test riding it.  comments along the lines of 'that bike is gorgeous', 'it is so curvy,'  'is it really wood?' and one 'hey, I bet you could nail things to that bike'

I rode this frame :

The seat post, fork. stem, and handlebars are all carbon fiber.
in this wood combo:

It is wenge outside, padauk pinstripe, sapele center

sorry it is so big...I am feeling to lazy to edit the size.

I hope it isn't pouring rain tomorrow for my 50 mile bike ride.  I would like the memory of my first half century to be at least a somewhat pleasant.

Good night team.  It is time to give my mom a break from caring for my dad.  It would also be good to get a decent amount of sleep tonight, but that depends on how my dad is doing.

I chat with y'all tomorrow.

St. Patrick's Day is coming up! But don't "overindulge" too much because we KNOW you want to keep up with your workouts! (Besides, do you REALLY want to drink Green Beer?)

Current Standings:
1st place -- bEASTies - 34.8%
2nd place -- T.W.I.S.T.E.R. - 31.0%

Happy St. Paddy's Day! Keep working out (or I'll zap you. I've just purchased a special GREEN taser. It's my personal way of celebrating St. Patrick's Day.)

Dee

Baby and I are waiting for grandma to show up so we can drive down to the race.  My husband left early to help with set-up.  The race doesn't start till 2PM.  It is beautiful out so it should be a good race.  Not too hot and too cold.  The wind always starts to blow pretty hard there, though.  Chat at you guys tonight!

Don't really know what I was thinking, but this just plain hurt this morning.  I found a similar workout on someone's log here and tweaked it a little.  Probably would of been all fine until I decided to run my 100 free interval times at 1:45, which just happens to be my fastest interval time ever.  Hmmm... not the best idea for 15 x 100.  I made it, but I'm sure it wasn't pretty.  The last couple of intervals I literally only had a couple of seconds at the wall before taking off again.  It took ever ounce of willpower to not break the interval.  Rest of the day cancelled!  Time for round 2 of baseball.

WU: 250 free w/ fins
MS: 30 x 100
5x100 pull @ 2:15; 1x100 @ 1:45
4x100 pull @ 2:15; 2X100 @ 1:45
3x100 pull @ 2:15; 3x100 @ 1:45
2x100 pull @ 2:15; 4x100 @ 1:45
1x100 pull @ 2:15; 5x100 @ 1:45

Well the weather men were wrong (surprised?) and it was a beautiful day.  A bit cold, but the sky was clear and blue.  I put in a nice long ride. I had to make some changes to the route, but it should be fairly close to 50 miles.  I am going to map it in a little bit.

I didn't make it to the pool much last week.  I will try to put in another 10,000 yards this week.

My bike ride was somewhere between 49.5 and 50 miles!

The furthest I have ridden up until to today was 40 miles and that was with decent training.

The only bike training I've done in the last few months is a couple of spin classes.

This was the first time I've ridden this bike more than a couple of blocks since I built it.  I was worried that the aero bar end shifters would be awkward (especially on hills) but I didn't have any problems with them.

And on the swim challenge I am 1000 yds from my biggest month ever so I am psyched about that number.  I won't be catching Brick or Neal but as long as I get stronger that is key!

Isn't that the whole purpose of these challenges.  Nice job.  I'm psyched for you too!

50 miles is a nice push.  I too found that the aero shifters take a little getting used, but otherwise are not that inconvenient when on the horns.
