pdbman - 2010-10-15 4:16 PM I think we have a strange office. All summer long it is freezing because some random person has the thermostat by his desk and he likes it cold. It doesn't matter that people all around have a thermometers that show temps that can be close to 60 at times. Then they turn off the A/C and it gets hot enough that it is uncomfortable. It can be crazy. I want to wear a coat in the summer and shorts in the winter. The one consolation I have is that I have a window that I can open to help moderate the temperature.

I find that's the case in many places. Humans are so strange...

Have you ever seen the commercial asking people to turn down their AC in the summer to conserve energy? There's a cat trying to get a drink but his water has turned into an icecube and the fishes are trapped in a block of ice.

COOL costume!

Congrats on the trial classroom day!!!

Thanks! Trial clinic day, it's a Kinesiology position, but it still looks like a good career opportunity.

What are the chances... every time I get a good opportunity everyone shows up at the door.

Monday - trial work day at the place I interviewed at today
Tuesday - second interview scenerio style with a group of people (seems reality tv fight off style to me)
Wednesday - training for position in Whitby (hour from home and would need to move)

I absolutely don't want to complain, but it's still stressful when this happens. The first two are Kinesiologist positions (1st one is preferable) and the third one is a personal trainer position at an upscale facility (chance of not working out, but a chance to potentially fly too).

I decided to confirm all appointments and make hard choices if required next week. However, this won't leave my head alone!

Does the lack of response mean Yanti didn't go to the doctor or is it she is just off browsing someplace else and hasn't seen your question?

Got a bike ride in this evening. I started a little later than I should have and it was dark by the time I finished. It's a good thing no one else was on the trail. After tomorrow I will be caught up on my biking goal but it will take a couple of more days to get caught up on my run.

What? Huh? Yes. I'm incensed but I shoulda had low expectations to begin with.

It's always bad when you have to give the doc a pharmacology briefer on common antibiotics, CBC values, and Widal test results.

I'm so sorry Yanti. I wish there was something we could do for you.
One thing I learned during my travel days for work is that we are very lucky in North America to have the medical system that we do. I have been to hospitals in third world countries for medical care and it is not fun. I have also been to the doctor and to hospitals in England and I was surprised at the level of care there as well. Sure they have some nice hospitals but the only nice one I went to was a private hospital for the very rich. The regular hospitals I went to, thank goodness just to visit friends, weren't up to par with the typical hospitals here in the US.

Time to get some dinner and go take care of my wife. She hasn't been feeling 100% lately and today it hit her hard. She came home early, took some medicine and has been lounging in from of the TV ever since. It sounds like she needs some cough medicine.

Eh. Actually even in the States I'm pretty sure it would just be symptomatic treatment (the optimal way to do this is going to be very individual, anyway) and recovery. I don't mind not having to pay ridiculous fees for insurance and/or treatment.

So now I'm going to continue thinking about painkillers, NSAIDS, steroids, supplements, training, and figure out what I want/can/should/need to do.

That would be REALLY funny if there weren't a context

Well, it's good that you understand what is going on in the doc's office. That way when there is a recommendation/injury diagnosis/etc you know what is going on and if needed can make suggestions or decline.
